So my sister pointed out something about this picture-
Everyone will agree this hair looks remarkably like that of “E”, the woman John was texting (and maybe cheated on Mary with). The color, the cut; I’m sure everyone’s first reaction to this picture was connecting it to that, and maybe that wasn’t coincidental.
Let’s look at this for a moment. Mary, John’s wife, just died (presuming that she is in fact dead). In the recent weeks before her death, John was entertaining the idea of another woman. Flirting and texting her when he knows damn well he’s a married man with a vow. We don’t actually know how far that relationship progressed, so we can’t judge, but based on his implied guilt, and the fact that her first text in that conversation that night was ‘It’s been too long’, which is pretty suggestive in itself (if ya know what I mean), is quite telling. But, I digress. So John’s being tempted (does he or does he not go the full nine yards, we don’t know), and then, quite suddenly, his wife DIES. Whether he did or did not doesn’t even matter anymore; the mere fact that he even *looked* at another woman would be enough to send him into a spiral of guilt that would wrack and berate him day and night. So let’s say he’s now suffering from a crazy amount of guilt that he carries every moment of the day. Every room in their house, every minute spent with his daughter, named after his late wife, reminds him that he didn’t keep his promise, his vow, to remain faithful to her. Maybe (like Sherlock), he starts having dreams, maybe he sees Mary in others faces, hallucinations, stuff like that.
MAYBE he sees MARY, looking and dressed (because I don’t actually think Mary would wear a necklace like that) like ‘E’. Like a guilt thing, y'know? Reminding him of his wrong actions, in the image of the very woman who tempted him. Possible, right?
****Idk maybe I didn’t do a great job explaining my point, I’m not good at all this theory stuff, so I’m sorry if it didn’t make sense, but hopefully you got an idea of what I mean****
