(i don’t know if someone has done this already so if they have pls let me know)
BUT
imagine this:
The Foxes have just won a very hard, very gruelling, very tiring away game by 1 point.
It’s late, they’re exhausted, dead on their feet tired, and yet they’re excited.
Because they won.
Dan and Matt have a celebratory kiss on court with their tired teammates cheering them on, before they all troop off the court, looking like a bunch of zombies.
Everyone gets changed quietly, but there’s an aura of happiness in the changing rooms. Because they won.
Getting back on the bus is a struggle with 10 exhausted teenagers and all their kit, but Wymack and Abby are gracious, saying they will load the gear.
The Foxes smile gratefully at them, too tired to say anything, before trooping up onto the bus.
The upperclassmen sit at the front as usual, Dan falling asleep against Matt as soon as she sits down, and Matt winds an arm around her shoulders before falling asleep as well.
Renee and Allison aren’t far behind them falling asleep.
Kevin, Nicky and Aaron sit just behind the upperclassmen, leaving one empty row of seats between them.
Aaron pulls his knee up to his chest and rests his chin on his knee, falling asleep like that. He very nearly falls off his chair, until Kevin wraps his arm around Aaron and pulls him into him, letting him sleep against him while Kevin watches out of the window.
Nicky is already fast asleep, and Kevin isn’t far behind.
This just leave Andrew and Neil.
These two are sat at the back, as usual. Andrew in the window seat, Neil next to him, two empty rows between them and the rest of the foxes.
All Neil wants to do is rest his head on Andrew’s shoulder and fall asleep, but even in such an exhausted state, he still respects Andrew and doesn’t touch him.
Instead, he rests his head against the back of the seat and watches Andrew through heavy lidded eyes, a small smile on his face.
It’s not long before Andrew notices Neil staring at him, and he regards him for a second, before rolling his eyes and nodding.
Neil quirks a brow, but his smile widens when Andrew offers up his shoulder.
“Thank you,” Neil whispers, voice filled with exhaustion as he rests his head on Andrew’s shoulder and leans against him, “You’re amazing.”
“Junkie,” Andrew whispers back, but his voice lacks it’s usual malice.
The last thing Neil feels before falling asleep leaning against his boyfriend, is Andrew’s fingers starting to play lightly with his hair.
just sleepy foxes after winning an away game and neil falling asleep against andrew’s shoulder yes please thank you
