                             CASTIEL IS KIND. The Nightmare behaved pretty decently during the last week, so he agreed to let him have a 'night out' (under surveillance, of course). Maybe he was also intrigued because neither Sam nor Dean is a party person, so Castiel has never been to a disco before, but it has always looked like a lot of fun in movies. He didn't expect the Nightmare to lead them to a club that seemed to be mostly for homosexuals. They wear next to nothing. Castiel, with his trench coat, attracts a lot of attention. He's unsure how he feels about that.

                              "I heard Heaven is a place on earth," a man in a black fishnet top says, squeezing himself between Castiel and the Nightmare, but mostly eying Castiel up and down, "but I didn’t realize angels were just hanging out in bars."

                              Castiel looks at the Nightmare, then at the man. "We usually don't," he explains, "but I'm not your typical angel." Which makes the man laugh inexplicably.

confusion stamps itself upon the hunter's mien. this one of those don't ask, don't tell moments? they weren't supposed to be having those. aren't they pretending to both be normal? sensing something was off about cori for weeks now, dean's kept his mouth shut. or is he joking? he's gotta be joking. probably not but let's roll with it.

"like.. how little?" tip-toeing out on a limb here. teeny step by teeny step. "we talking metaphorical little or actual little? gotta forgive a guy for keeping some'a his secrets...uh. locked in the trunk." pat pat to cold metal before his hand falls to his side--swinging out on the way down. "..uh. totally.....yep."

The lord of dreams observes the little skull in its hand with melancholy detachment. What was not contained within the Corinthian's skull was reabsorbed by its creator the night they uncreated him; there is little left of the nightmare now that is not also them. Many ghosts walk the Dreaming, but this is not one of them. It is the Endless equivalent of the mind playing tricks upon itself; pieces of his own consciousness, separated from the whole, lingering in the liminal space between Dream and Dreaming. The Corinthian is in his mind, his hand, and his realm all at once, and yet it is also in none of those places.

"One must be alive, to die." It strokes the little toothed eyesockets with its thumb, gently. He had been so proud of this creation, once... and proud of himself, for making it.

How far they both fell.

How far they both might rise, once remade.

The only hope available to them: this one will be better suited to the world than the last.

"Is this not what you wanted? My death?" He presses his thumb against one of the mouths, harder this time, remembering how he had shaped the teeth just-so, millenia ago. The spectral image of the Corinthian does not leave his mind or his realm, but it is the skull he focuses on, the real. "It's what you thought you wanted, at least. And yet..." Dream smiles, slightly. "If you were truly here, I think you would be angry at me for it."

He sighs. Sand gusts from his mouth; it dusts the Corinthian's lifeless skull. Dream straightens, no longer leaning on the railings of the balcony, and slips the little thing into his pocket.

"No matter. I have use for you yet, little dream."

His own voice comes back to him, faint, remembered. The next time I make you, you will not be so...

Well, he thinks. There is no time like the present.

                              "YOU KNOW, you'd be a magnificent lead in a Casa Erotica movie. If you kept the sunglasses on, of course, because the whole..." Gabriel points at his own eyes and wriggles his fingers. "Is kinda a turn-off for most people. Unless, of course, we make a special Monster Fucker edition. Do you have any idea how big that specific market is? Gigantic, I gotta tell you. Quick question, could you suck three dicks at once with those mouths?"

Their height difference shouldn’t be nearly enough to allow his obsolete double to lift him off the ground, but that’s the thing about dreams: the impossible can happen regardless. The Corinthian struggles like any trapped animal for a moment, legs kicking, no fear of his predecessor to make him freeze up or fawn - only the rage enough to fight.

It takes a lot of twisting, a lot of forcing his will over the narrative they’re both in, but he is free and grabbing the first Corinthian’s wrist to snap it between jaws that turn momentarily long and bestial just to get the job done right. His face is his own again within moments.

Exhaustion had overcome him, and as he reached the point of no return, crafting a dream and allowing himself to subconsciously fall into it had become second nature. There was something cathartic about going to the Lake House and spending the night tucked away there, away from others. ( It was often his go-to, especially when fatigue had become overbearing. ) The night was the same as most, he’d arrived and began to flick through a book to unwind and pass some time, only to feel… what in God's green earth? There had been a jolt, a disturbance, a change in the air that had him react and barrel for the door.

‘What the fuck?’

Bewildered was putting it lightly. Stopping like a deer caught in headlights, he could only stare, attempting to process exactly how the nightmare was there. ( Sure - he was an omen of dreams, but this was far from an average occurrence. ) His ability kept him from having to relieve certain horrors while he slept since they were bad enough while he was awake. So how had Corinthian invaded his little slice of paradise? And why was he nude? Eyeing him and his state, he couldn’t help but allow a smirk to spread across his lips; abandoning his alarm at seeing him so abruptly, and merely taking a moment to appreciate him in all his naked glory. ( Christ, he was gorgeous. ) Even more so when he appeared so vulnerable and confused, completely out of his depth. It appeared he lacked control here. A relief, to say the least, considering he didn’t wish for his own universe to go to shit.

‘You tell me, precious. You’re the one where you shouldn’t belong. Drink?’

Des believes this man to be lying. He finds it very unlikely that he would have dropped one of his guns, and even more unlikely that it wouldn't have caused a sort of distressed reaction from the crowd he's in if he had dropped it.

Still, someone with stealthy enough fingers to pull it off of him catches his interest at once.

"did i?" He asks, tone just a little too sweet. But still, he smiles, and then he takes the weapon without another word, pulling his shirt up momentarily to tuck it away safely on his person. "well, i'll have to be just a little bit more careful, won't i?"

The God hums, and reaches down, brushing a calloused hand against Nightmare's cheek, caressing it for just a moment, before he lets out a bellowing laugh.

"lead the way, then. if you have been looking for me... well. i'm sure it must be of upmost importance."
