I’m not gonna lie, I’ve been avoiding this one cause I’ve been trying to figure out how they would even interact because they live in two different worlds. 

There was one thing Hyejin had to avoid and that was the cops. How was she supposed to know that the area she was in was a red-light district and that the bar she went in was notorious for crime lords to gather? 

Why did Hyejin enter that bar in the first place? She needed a drink. It was close to her office and to a subway station and she needed a drink. Was that a crime? Apparently being in the same vicinity of a crime lord is. 

Hyejin’s forehead is pressed against the steel table, the alchemist letting out deep breaths as the formation of excuses and stories begin to correlate together from the questioning of the detective who arrested her. Suddenly, the door opened and the arresting officer walks in with a folder in her hand, thank god it’s thin looking. 

The officer watching Hyejin steps out of the room and Hyejin sits up as the detective silently takes a seat in front of her. Detective Kimura is her name. Hyejin is silent as well, knowing she at least has that right, but that would make her suspicious. So she says, “is this going to take long? I have a dog waiting at home and he hasn’t been fed at his usual time.”

Detective Kimura looks at the woman now, setting down the file that presents a few sheets of paper, containing the apartment license agreement, her bank statements, and her resume that she provided for work. “Why were you at the bar today?”

I needed a drink because I still can’t fucking find my way home.

“Work has been stressful and I just needed a drink.”

“Why that particular bar? There are other places closer to your work, and usually women don’t go to bars alone. They’re usually there to meet up with someone.” Detective Kimura’s face is unreadable, trying to scrutinize Hyejin under her gaze.

Hyejin isn’t actually intimidated, but she’s more trying act along the lines of someone who’s innocent. 

“The drinks there are cheaper,” is Hyejin’s simple response. Which is true. Ever since she had Chad, she had to be careful with her expenses. Vet bills were a lot. Detective Kimura only smirks at that response.

“There’s a reason for everything isn’t there?” The Detective says and then starts to spread the minimal sheets on Hyejin’s account. “We have all the basic information on you, now tell me why we can’t find a birth certificate on you?” Detective Kimura asks, “your name is Korean, but you don’t look Korean. If you’re an American or a Japanese and have immigrated here illegal, we have every right to deport you. So tell me again, why were you at the bar?” 

Hyejin takes a deep breath. She didn’t think about a birth certificate. Hell, she doesn’t even have one back in Amestris. She was orphaned at a young age and dropped off in front of an Alchemist’s home.

“I’m not American. Nor am I Japanese. America won’t claim me and neither will Japan.” Hyejin looks at Detective Kimura, “I haven’t told a single lie. I was only there to get a drink.” 

Again, Detective Kimura shows know sign of any sort of sentiment. “Am I under arrest?”

Detective Kimura hesitates, “no.”

Hyejin stands up and walks out of the interrogation room without a word.

World Views/Experiences📿: Have they ever had a supernatural experience? seika

Seika has had a supernatural experience. In this case, she doesn’t even know it happened, and it’s possible she doesn’t even remember. She was just a kid, when her father was still alive, he had taken her to the park. He wasn’t looking for a moment and she disappeared. Seika was following a little fairy she saw sitting on the flowers and, like any child, was curious. Luckily for her father, he found her right away, and the fairy was gone.

💣: Did they ever get caught in a situation because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time? fumino

Fumino likes to call them a coincidence. Or stalking. And considering her job, likely the latter. Considering the work she’s in, she’s constantly caught in a situation because she’s at the wrong place at the wrong time. 

✪: Have they ever let a rare opportunity slip them by? seyong

Always. Seyong has developed a personality that keeps her rooted in the same spot she’s been in for years. If she were ever to be offered a promotion, she’d stay where she is because it’s a better pay position and she knows that if she gets higher than this position, she wouldn’t be able to move as freely as she can now.

Locations🔅: What’s a place that holds special meaning to them? Why? ruri

Japan. It’s the one place she longs to return to, but knows she never could. Heading back to Japan would mean surrendering to her father and potentially ending her life.

💋: Where did they have their first kiss? Do they remember who it was with? yein

It was with a member of her own digidestined team. She had always had a crush on him and had settled on being a friend. But when they were stuck in the digital world, and there was a point where they had a real danger of dying, she had kissed him out of fear that she’ll never tell at least one person her true feelings. 

🌙: Where is the most unusual place they’ve fallen asleep at? haruka

Definitely at the bus stop. Not inside the bus. She had finished an all nighter and didn’t get much sleep. Her path to work has her waiting at a bus stop, but one time she fell asleep standing and waiting for it to come.

People✘: Who do they detest the most? Do they typically avoid this person or antagonize them? yun

The head of the house. Like all her other family members, they keep their distance from them and purposely stay as far as they possibly can. Yun keeps her distance as much as she possibly can. But she has no choice but to go to the head whenever she’s called.

💔: Have they ever had their heart broken? If so, why or how did it happen? isolde

Not necessarily. Yes, she has confessed that she had feelings for someone before, but it was unfortunately one-sided. However, it didn’t end with Isolde’s feelings of despair. She had already prepared and figured as much.

💍: Have they ever been engaged before? What broke it off if so? mina

No, baby girl is way too young.

“Hyojoo?” A smile stretches across Fumino’s lips as she recognizes the girl, reaching for her with a light touch on her elbow to grab her attention. “It’s been so long, how have you been?” It really has been maybe a few months or even a year since she’s seen her. Life has gotten so much busier in her unit as gangs are becoming bolder and cops are becoming more corrupt that her time spent at the gym at regular hours have become non-existent. Today, she’s been ordered to go home to take a breather, but she has to throw her adrenaline elsewhere.

“Excuse me?” Anna growled, turning her attention to her crying son sitting on the floor and holding his bloodied knee to the woman standing next to them who was probably close when Simba had been pushed off of the playground’s castle, falling almost two meters down on the gravel. The culprits had ran off laughing and the mother was now kneeling next to her son, trying her best to comfort him. And this woman had to put in her two pennies. “Who asked you? Oh wait, let me push you down a wall and tell you it could be worse when your tibia pokes out of your knee.” Yes, she was probably exagerating but she could not stand strangers mingling in her own business with her children. 

Now Fumino is not allowed to be angry at the other woman’s aggression for a multitude of reasons. For one thing, why was she at a children’s park in the first place? No, it was not to creep on the kids, she had actually just been going off on a stroll and hearing a cry instinctively had her rush to the scene where the boy is crying over a bloody knee. Really, not as bad as it could be, considering his “tibia DIDN’T poke out of his knee.” Second of all, why say anything at all? Literally none of her business. And finally, Fumino isn’t a mother, she has no idea what motherhood is like nor will she ever, so there’s no way she could understand the other woman’s fear. But...

Fumino is petty is petty as hell. 

“Well, he could fallen head first. Now, that would be waaaaaay worse.”
