NOTES → rachel's class is canceled so she takes some alone time in her favorite auditorium to plunk at the piano and think, she's not alone, though.

rachel was just messing around on the piano and lost in her own thoughts. she had a lot to think about, and she'd told jesse that she would seriously consider switching teams, which meant a lot of things. it meant letting down the new directions, but it also meant joining the team where all her friends were - and a team that was certain to win. on top of that...there was the jesse of it all. she hadn't told anyone about this yet, only the man himself.

she heard heels clicking into the large auditorium and she squinted to see who it was, "oh, hey, my class was canceled and i'm feeling...weird. i can only think in auditoriums. you know how it is. did you have the same idea?"

NOTES → brittany sees harmony in the dorms and drama probably happens

brittany finished putting the finishing touch on her punch (more tequila) and stirred it before walking to her mirror to re-apply her lip gloss. she stopped short, when she saw, behind her in her mirror: harmony pearce. immediately, she went cold. "you're going to want to step out of my room. it's open to anybody but you."

LOCATION → talent show, back to school party

TIME FRAME → back to school party 8/29.

NOTES → rachel sees harmony at the talent show and feels weird but tries to keep a smile on her face.

Rachel stepped outside the auditorium for some fresh air after watching a painful performance that she would've torn apart if she were asked to critique, and she saw a familiar face out there. Harmony. Harmony was her friend, sure, but ever since Rachel found out this week that her friend was rooming with her ex boyfriend, she felt on edge. She couldn't help but worry that something might happen between the two, and it made her stomach turn sour and her head feel spinny. Of course, they were teammates, so that made it even worse. Of course, none of this was even Harmony's fault, and that made her just feel plain guilty for feeling this way at all.

"Oh, hi Harmony, I just needed air. Did you hear that solo? Very brutal, I can't believe someone at NYADA would disrespect Bette Midler in such a way," she rambled, tucking her hair behind her ear.

Bite The Bullet || Harmony & Sam

It wasn’t often that Sam arrived late to things, the habit irked him to be honest so he did his best to avoid it. But one game of CoD turned to two, and suddenly he was behind on everything. Still, it was cool to arrive fashionably late, right? By the looks of things, most of the other party goers had arrived by now and were well into mingling, a few even having gone as far to venture into the pool. The atmosphere was already far better than the last shindig that he had attended, and he was grateful for that. Sebastian had really done well with the place, he noted, looking around at the way the place had been decorated. He would have to find him at some point in the night to comment on it. For now, he was going to grab a drink. 

Making his way to the bar, it didn’t take him long to spot a figure that he recognised. Whilst Harmony wasn’t exactly the first person Sam would’ve liked to run into - their past still making things somewhat awkward between the pair, he thought it rude to be so close and not say anything at all. Plus their last conversation hadn’t been a total disaster. So, he bit the bullet as he moved to stand beside her. “Sticking to your usual, or switching things up?” he asked once his presence was known, leaning against the bar casually as he did his best to break the ice. The words felt more than a little cringy falling from his lips, but it was the best that he could come up with.

He would be lying if Hunter said there hadn’t been something weird going on between Harmony and him since he admitted to hooking up with Spencer. Something about the girl seemed off, but he wasn’t entirely sure what nor was he sure why he even cared. It wasn’t like Harmony was his girl or even his friend for that matter. All she really was to him as someone that he fucked when stress hit too hard or when they wanted to try and one up the other so what did it really matter if she was acting funny or seemed upset by something? Hunter killed the engine when he pulled up to her driveway sending Harmony a quick text to let the girl know that he was there then leaning back in his seat.

There was no real reason to worry if something was upsetting Harmony, right? If something was honestly bugging her to the point where she couldn’t stand it any longer then she would tell him or better yet tell one of her girls to get her through the trouble. As far as Hunter knew it wasn’t any of his business to worry about what Harmony was feeling or about who had upset her, and yet he couldn’t stop himself from thinking about it. The moment he saw the girl come out of the house, Hunter sat up in his seat and got out of the car so that he could open the other side. Again, it wasn’t something simple hook ups did for each other and yet it was the only thing coming to his mind.

However, when she got closer Hunter didn’t back away from the door. Instead he smiled at the girl and placed his hands on the girl’s waist. “Hey babe. Ready?” Her neighbors weren’t anyone from school and it was highly unlikely that someone would see them in the dark of the evening so risk was rather low. Besides, it would be one kiss beside a car before their date – not date – no one would really notice them nor would they care. Gently tugging the girl close, Hunter leaned in and pressed her lips against Harmony’s as a sort of greeting.

F2F--Finn/Harmony

Finn couldn’t help the consecutive sneezes that spilled from his body. It was a risk, he knew, going to Harmony’s cabin so late at night--but he liked to think that Puck brought out the rebellious streak in him every once in a while. “I--choo--I’m sorry. I think everyone might be awake right now, because of me.” He sat next to the brunette, eyes drifting up to the stars. “Wow--they’re pretty.” He mused, carefully (and awkwardly) tucking his knees to his chest.

Hunter glanced back at the girl before looking around the yard. “Alright, looks pretty clear. Just text Sugar and tell her to open the back door for a second. We’ll slip inside and no one will even realize that we just got here.” It seemed like a good enough plan – at least as good as Hunter was going to be able to construct. It wasn’t as if they had actually planned on showing up late, just thinks started piling up and before they knew it, it was already eleven when Harmony and he arrived. While he didn’t want to face the wrath of Santana and explaining why they were late, he also didn’t want to miss out on a party that was actually expected to be pretty fun so sneaking in was the only real option.

“You know, in theory we probably should have planned this out better so we actually got here on time. Not that sneaking in doesn’t sound thrilling, but it’s kind of a pain in the ass.” Catching sight of the door pushing open, Hunter waved at Harmony. “Forget it. Someone's opening the door! Come on, let’s go!”

Hunter glanced at his friend with a smile as everyone was gearing up for the countdown. It wasn’t until the moment he actually locked eyes with his friend that Hunter started to doubt what before had seemed like such a good idea. They were going to be each others New Year’s kiss, what was wrong with that? They were best friends and everyone needed a kiss at midnight – it made sense to be each others. Except the longer Hunter looked at the girl, the more he started to notice how good she actually looked that evening. Maybe it was the entire setting of the party or the earlier consumed beer, but she looked absolutely gorgeous.

When the countdown started, Hunter took Harmony’s hand into his own and moved to face her just as all the other couples around seemed to do. “Well, it’s now or never.” Though there was a laugh on his lips, there were nerves in his stomach. “New Year’s kiss time.”
