I remember meeting someone who didn't like brakendra, I got excited because I didn't like the ship either, they're fine as friends but still- Neither of us liked the ship for multiple reasons

But then.

They said they shipped Kendra x Raxtus

AND I TRY NOT TO SHIP SHAME I REALLY DON'T- BUT THE MAIN REASON THAT THEY DIDN'T LIKE BRACKEN WAS BECAUSE HE WAS OLD

RAXTUS IS OLD TOO HES CONSIDERED AN ADULT DRAGON IN THE BOOKS ITS NOT HIS FAULT HES SHORT AND SCARED

Whumpril 2024, Day 29 Prompt- Reluctant Caretaker @whumpril

Time travel is always tricky, Kendra knows this. But she also didn't expect to get shucked into the past years before she was born, right next to Raxtus's egg.

But there was something wrong, she could see the beast already beginning to eat some of the other eggs (Raxtus's siblings she dimly recognized). But there were no fairies anywhere nearby, she couldn't feel a drop of their magic anywhere nearby. It was only her, the egg, and the cockatrice.

And as it slowly began to turn Kendra made a split-second decision, she grabbed Raxtus's egg and ran. She ran and ran and ran. Until she was far away, until she reached the Fairy Queen's Shrine and asked a bewildered Fairy Queen for sanctuary in her realm.

It was granted to her and the egg, for which Kendra was grateful. Before the implications of what she had done set in, she had taken Raxtus's egg- which meant that he wouldn't be taken in by Shiara. Which meant... would she have to take of him now?

But she couldn't, she wouldn't even know where to start!
