BATMAN/TWO-FACE: FACE THE FACE (2006)
Here we see the strange and elusive creature known as Pete Townshend performing its exotic mating dance...
I just read Face The Face, and I just...
Tim
Honey...
What are you doing?
Stop
“Is anyone going to perch moodily on that? No, okay, dibs!’
How many times has Alfred wandered into the kitchen to make a cup of tea, to find Tim crouched on top of the fridge slurping his seventh Red Bull while scrolling twitter, and had to just turn around and walk out again because he doesn’t get paid enough to deal with this.
Face The Face - Pete Townshend
bc @oculusxcaro asked, here's a small primer on why face the face is trash
ok so the plot is that harvey dent is okay now and batman decides to leave gotham in his protection for a year because he's gotta go to space or something idk
then he comes back after that year and there's been some murders of certain villains so batman's like :
and so he comes back after a year, sees dead people, and accuses his friend (whom he trusted to do HIS JOB) of multiple murders immediately without even asking what's going on first.
batman seems confused as to why he takes this very poorly despite the fact that he is the one accusing his bestie of murder.
oh yeah, and the "you WANTED it" is going to come back later because :
HE DIDN'T!! he didn't want it. he said 'look i appreciate your trust but i'm not sure that's a good idea'
he even lists other people who he thinks would be a better choice, and batman tells him to shut up.
so no, he didn't want it & batman doesn't understand why he's pissed for some reason.
harvey then proceeds to have a meltdown after being accused of murder by someone who should have believed in him, and re-scars his face with a scalpel and nitric acid. cured they said.
it doesn't help that the entire time, harvey is portrayed as an irrational, crazy-because-crazy, vain little jerk who doesn't want batman to have his job back i guess.
also he threatens to shoot a tiger
who looks so goddamn confused rn
but um @about-faces has a great breakdown of the whole thing and i respect their dedication to tearing it apart because there's so much going on and so many things---
my gripe is that batman wouldn't fucking do this, and if he DID, he'd be the first to vouch for harvey's innocence. which, surprise! he is! innocent of THOSE murders, but not the eight or nine murders he commits after becoming two-face. again.
the actual culprit is a villain we don't even see until the last pages.
tl;dr : the panel with the tiger really should sum it up
And he sticks the landing!
