☆ Waterfall Wandering
No matter how small the underground seemed, or how Mettaton much had shaped it to his liking, he had made an effort to leave Waterfall well enough alone. Even if just for blooky’s sake and his farm…
Currently, he was sitting at the side of the river that filled the edges of Waterfall. He watched the underground streams shimmer and travel against the soft shores, stretching what seemed infinitely each way. It was peaceful, and the fresh and cool air was a nice change of pace from Hotland.
He pulled off his heels, setting them off to the side, staring at his legs tiredly he let them dip into the water. He couldn’t get fully submerged, but his legs were waterproof enough, and the cold water felt good–especially when he felt overwhelmed and overheated. His eyes lifted up to look over the streams again, and he frowned at the sight of what looked to be a figure out across the stream on a boat…
He knew almost everyone it the Underground, how could he have overlooked someone? They hadn’t yet noticed him, so he opted to stay quiet for the moment and wait.
[ @faceless-musings ] ____________________________________________________________ This trip was honestly making Mcfry a bit uneasy. He looked at the waters and frowned a little bit, but tried to make himself not look down anymore. He didn’t want to freak himself out. Plus this was the only way if he wanted to avoid the rain. Something like that would definitely kill him. Other than that, this person seemed really nice for giving him a free ride to Hotland. He glanced at the water, really hoping that this person’s answer didn’t mean that the water would change into being wild soon. He was a bit tense as they moved quicker down the stream He decided to slowly get down, wanting to hold onto the boat for reassurance. He had his hands latched onto the wood just as they got around the riverbend. “You mean fire?” He asked, seeming to already guess that he would be asked why he was going through the waterways. “Well, it was this or walk. I heard when you take the usual path, there’s a long stretch where it’s raining super hard.” He shrugged. “.....This seemed my best bet.” He paused a few moments in order to look at the water warily once again, but then gaining his nerve back. “Plus. It’s a lot faster..... ..... .. The less time my bar spends closed, the better...”
[Come home super determined to write but got kind of a bomb dropped on me so I lost literally all the ideas floating around in my head.. ;v; I might need an hour to let it all settle before I start brainstorming again D: Sorry! Tagging people I know I have replies for, if I’m missing one just shoot me an ask or something and I’ll find it!
Grillby really wished there was some type of transportation around here that didn’t involve walking for hours or involve water. Though, here he was, stepping through the snow, past the wolf throwing ice cubes, and up north to the space in the woods that connected to the river directly. He paused a moment, really unsure. Was it worth the risk of going on an actual boat? Perhaps he should just let the bar close down for a longer while for his trip. Surely he could have it closed for a day or two, right? ....That idea already didn't sit well with him. He didn’t know how long he would be gone. He mulled over the idea of hiring someone to watch after the bar for him, but that also didn’t sound appealing. He shook his head. He would be back within a few hours, probably, especially if the walking trip was cut out. He just had to get to the Hotlands, have a conversation with a certain someone, then dip out. Back to the grill for him. “Hello?”, He said as he approached the clearing, uncertainly glancing at the creek.
