Good morning Life Loves, Sooo, I don't know why I'm always the last to know, but this came up on my Google feed this morning and I couldn't believe it. I just found out about this shameful behavior going on with Tik Tok users (parents, no less!!!) and I am just... disgusted, disappointed and just plain pissed. 😑 The fact that parents would think that this is okay; not only perpetuating stereotypical fear, inciting prejudice in their children, and encouraging insensivity and negativity towards people who may not look like them is a disgrace. 😡 I used to look at having disabilities and health challenges as a curse. Like "Lord, why me?" But as God continues to mature me in so many ways, my perception has changed and I am beginning to be grateful. Grateful for the understanding, the compassion, the empathy, the grace, that has come from this journey. Grateful for the (still small, butrising) voice that I'm slowly trying to honor those in the disabled community. Having disabilities and going through physical challenges is CHANGING me... I think for the better. Everyday I'm learning about new challenges facing people with all kinds of disabilities and I have to speak out. This is a community that I've been apart of silently since 2005, but I'm only now accepting that fact (even whilst believing for healing and working to improve my health). I look forward to God giving me more opportunities to spread empathy, awareness and light to injustices like these that need to be addressed. The only way that things will change is when we shed light and stand up for what is right. I stand with Lizzie and countless others.
