In the latest Kickstarter update, Yu Suzuki and the team give us a sneak peek at some of the work-in-progress facial animations that they have been working on. can anyone explain to me why, despite disabling facial animations for some races due to it breaking them, i still have races that show up looking like this?

So far so good with the new Nautolans. The facial animations for emotions (like frowning) are a little too subtle, so it’s harder to notice than other species. The head tentacles aren’t clipping as bad as I feared, and they’re free swinging like the Twi’lek’s leku so that’s good. Wish the skin colors were a little prettier, they’re kinda muddy, and the marking colors need to pop more, cause the only really bright one is yellow.

The only thing I’m mildly worried about is whether or not they can close their eyes. I haven’t personally seen it yet, and it’s not like it would be a deal-breaker, but its gonna make some animations (especially kiss scenes) hella awkward with those big eyes staring vacantly into the void.
