MISERY SEX. HOW LIKELY, HEEMY?
renne, listen, are they even my otp if they don’t have miserable sex at least once
I WILL SAY THOUGH, i’ve been thinking a lot about the particular variation of “the world is ending & maybe we could’ve done this sooner but god, we’ve both been stupid & it’s too late” misery sex, and dragon age lends itself really well to this!
(last night at skyhold when cassandra runs into the inquisitor wandering about the castle, and it’s late; they’ve both got their armor off, metaphorical & real. the inquisitor’s smile is automatic and shaky, and cassandra stares at the line of her shoulders and thinks, what was the point, all those times she wanted and kept it trapped between her teeth, did it mean anything at all
the castle’s quiet. the inquisitor touches her like she can find all the answers in the curve of cassandra’s spine, the hollow under her jaw.)

fadetouched said: i do the ‘letting it play out & pull together as i go to sleep’ thing. can’t tell you the number of really great ideas i’ve lost bc i fell asleep haha (i think about stories even now when i don’t write anymore bc it’s a good way to go to sleep without worrying abt IRL things instead)
it is a great way to go to sleep without worrying about IRL, i think that’s most of the reason i also do this. also bc i’m now usually going to bed after reading about some bullshit case law or news story that i really don’t want to dream about.
but yeah i think there’s just something super fulfilling about thinking through a story? it’s like a more complex version of counting sheep.
fadetouched said: oh man, conversation is all i want from fandom and ff used to be how to get it on conversation friendly platforms. something something the good old days.
they were both good and old, those days. also tho it’s just such a shame because i feel like a lot of fanfic is one big invitation to conversation-- you’re basically saying, “yes, hello, i love this thing so much i wrote another thousand words of it, please come love it with me.”
and while kudos and hits are nice, they are like a wave when you want to sit down and have coffee and gab about ships for about 10 years.
fadetouched replied to your post: Hey you guys, wanna learn how to make Dump Cake? ...
what is.. um. “yellow cake mix” for non-americans? ours don’t tend to be labelled by colour, rather flavour
That would be vanilla! Both white and yellow cake are vanilla, but when you make white cake you use only the egg whites, and when you make yellow cake you use the whole egg.
tbh u need to come to this million miles away useless country soon & you should also bring tumblr user @barrayars. i'm sure we'd magically manage to find a comics writer or artist to say something embarrassing in front of with the power of three
by our powers combined, we can be the most embarrassing. @barrayars get on this train, we have to up our vacation game big time.
TBH though that would be amazing.
24 and 42
24. favorite scene you’ve ever written
picking just one is haaaaaard um. i think my favorite scene right now is actually something for a fic i haven’t finished yet :o
42. do you plan or do you write whatever comes to your mind?
a combination. usually something comes into my head, then i’ll plan around it, or come up with an idea in which i wanna use it. as i start writing, other ideas come to mind and derail my original outline, but it’s not hard for me to come up with new plans. it’s actually kind of exciting when it happens, to me it feels more real, because that’s a bit how life is like, and if i didn’t expect this or that to happen in my own story, there’s a strong possibility readers won’t either.
