yavanna kementári 

yavanna meant giver of fruits, as kementári meant queen of the earth, and under her dominion were all green things that grew. she was the sister of vána and the consort of aulë, and kin to melian the maia. known to be kind and ferocious in equal turns, she was the first patroness of the nandor, alongside oromë the hunter. never did she abandon the fields and forests of middle earth, and in the later days many followed her paths, including those such as aiwendil and legolas green-leaf.

Summary: He determined he would have to cut through the Woods of Oromë. If all went well, it should be a straight shot to what Celebrimbor had labelled as the Mansions of Aulë. Perhaps, were Legolas a wiser elf, he would first seek the guidance of Mandos – because after all, he was still alive, and Gimli was still dead.

But Legolas was, at the end of all things, not a very wise elf. He was simply an elf with a fiddle and a bow, who was deeply in love. And he had to hope that would be enough.

Celebrían raises an eyebrow at him, pale on her face. Elrohir wonders why he didn’t get her hair. He and his siblings are all raven-haired like their father (like Elwing, like Lúthien) and though they share the storminess of their eyes with their mother, that is not what others see.

Sometimes, he wishes he had her hair.

“It is the way of our people. We sing of the sadness, we learn from our mistakes. But it is not only the sad songs they sing,” she repeats. She tilts her head back, and her hair spins as she does, reflecting the candles, silver and fair and full of light. “I promise you that, my love.”
