Hello! I appreciate the resources you've put together and am planning on calling my representatives today. However, I have one question--when calling representatives in deeply red states where all the state officials are Trump cronies, is it safe to give my address? I know the recommendations is to provide that information, but I'm scared of making myself or the people I love targets, particularly because many of them are naturalized citizens and registered Democrats.
Please remember that you have absolutely no obligation to give the government any information beyond that which you are willing to do. When calling elected officials' offices, they will often ask for your zip code (to prove that you are a constituent) but if you don't want to give that and just want to say you live in [city] or [county], then do that. You certainly should not feel obligated, and they should not insist, on having your full street address or other specific personal identifying information.
Good luck, and courage!
