I applied to go Full Time and ONLY Full Time earlier this month. I still have not heard anything back on the subject, but I also just found out yesterday that I have to call casting to set up an interview for one of my role choices. I, of course, forgot to write down the phone number and I have to be on a network computer to get said phone number so I guess I’m not getting it until tomorrow. I didn’t know exactly how to check the status on my transfer until I saw a friend check his last night, so yeah, that’s why i didn’t know I had to call them.

I elected to ONLY apply for Full Time because that gives me an ultimatum. If I get Full Time I can Probably afford to stay, if I don’t get a Job offer I’ll go home. 

I’m nervous either way this turns out. 

For now though, I’m packing non-essentials up and sending them back home to California just in case I end up going home. The Less I have, the better. I still have a few things left on my list of things to do before I’m done here (assuming i’m going home) that I hope to accomplish next week. Trying to have fun.

I’m impatiently waiting for the news.

My Program ends in a little over a Month (I guess from right now its closer to 2 full months) and I’m not okay with this.

I still have so much I want to do, I’m still so conflicted on whether I want to stay or leave. 

I’ve decided to apply to, or at least apply for information from, schools both here in Florida and back home in California. Since you know, its just so hard for schools to tell you a cost per unit because you know, that might scare you away from overpaying for school...

I’ve been enjoying my time in EPCOT and I like my roommates and friends and i don’t want to leave. Going home means no more seeing my Pirates whenever I feel like it or just going into a park just because I can. No more magic. I’m not ready for that. 

Ideal for me, from here (assuming its impossible to stay in Florida) would be to go back to California and get a job at Disneyland or something like that, I mean even just a community college in LA is better than a community college in Sacramento (When you’re a Film Major anyway). I don’t want to go home and have my schooling and life go out the window for things I can’t control. Mostly the LA thing though, (higher-up) people here have told me the best advice they can give me (since i’m studying film) is to go back to California and try to get into contact with people there because thats where the Disney film industry is (”oh you’re from California? thats perfect”) so yeah. 

I’m not ready for this to end.

It’s been a week since my program ended and all I can think about is how sad I am. I’m also rather upset with myself that I left. That place has taught me a lot about myself and what I value. Yes, I value my family, but I also value my freedom, friends, and figuring life out along the way. I realized a little too late that going home really wasn’t the best idea, but luckily, Disney isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Guys, I wanted to write about my time on the program. I really did. But I don’t even know how to put it into words. So if you have questions, feel free to send them to me and I can answer them from there.

On December 1st, I went to my first ever Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. It was a lot of fun, though I spent the whole night meeting characters and eating cookies instead of watching Parades and Fireworks.. oops. 

I, of course, met Captain Jack Sparrow First. I got in line at like 6:45 to wait for him to come out at 7 (he came out 15 minutes late... but whatever). I was wearing my version of an “ugly sweater” which you will see in the pictures, but I liked it and it gave (most of) the characters something to play off of. So First I met Captain Jack and we talked:

Captain Jack Sparrow: *sees my sweatshirt* Oh I like that, pirate ay? Me: yes. Captain Jack Sparrow: Are you enjoying your party? Me: yes, but there's no rum. Captain Jack: I know, there's hot chocolate over there *points to Tortuga* but there's no rum, it doesn't make any sense. How can you have one without the other? Me: I don't know. But there's all these barrels of rum around. Captain Jack: They're Empty. Me: is that your fault? I think that's your fault. Captain Jack: it might be... A little. Me: I knew it. But that's okay. Captain Jack: maybe they'll replace them. Me: Maybe. Captain Jack: Well I'll let you know if they do, we'll grab a drink. Have a wonderful evening, love. *Hugs Me* (he gave me a hug)

After Meeting Captain Jack, and knowing of his hatred for Pirates, I HAD to go meet Peter Pan while wearing a Pirate sweater. (I love Peter Pan but I had to create my own mischief like he does on the daily) So I went to see him and Wendy:

Peter: NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NO NO NOPE! She's a Pirate! I told you NO PIRATES! Why did you let a Pirate in? Wendy: oh Dear! Peter: Alright fine, come here Pirate! But keep where I can see you! Wendy: She's going to steal my scarf! Are you going to steal my scarf? Please Don't! Me: no, I won't. My sweater is pretty warm. Peter: she won't steal your Scarf. Don't wor- Oh wait, she's not a Pirate! She's got all her fingers! There's no real pirate that has ALL their appendages! Me: Captain Jack Sparrow has all his and he's a Real Pirate! Peter: Nu-uh! He's missing a hunk of his nose, his right pinky toe, and one of his ribs! Me: how do you know? Peter: because I stole his rib! Ask him! Wendy: it was quite funny you know! Me: why would you do that? Peter: I dunno, it was fun! He's the only nice Pirate. I like to Pick on him, he's okay. Alright Pirate. Oh wait! Don't forget your pirate bag! Me: I wont. Peter: what's the point of being a Pirate and doing all that looting if you just forget your pirate bag in Neverland?

After that I decided I HAD to go back to Captain Jack, but first I wanted to meet a couple others too. So since I was in Fantasyland, I went over to Princess Fairy Tale Hall to meet Rapunzel and Flynn, and Cinderella and Prince Charming. When I got to Rapunzel and Flynn, Rapunzel saw my sweater and immediately asked what kind of thug I was:

Rapunzel: hello, oh your shirt! You must be a ruffian! Cinderella's guards aren't doing too good a job tonight. Well, Are you the good kind or the bad kind? Me:... It depends. Rapunzel: Well do you have Pointy Teeth? Me: No. Rapunzel: well then that means you must have a dream! Me: yeah. Flynn: have you ever been to the snugly duckling? Me: no. I can only find Tortuga. Rapunzel: I've never heard of that one, but you should go to the snugly duckling. We'll take you! When you smell the color brown, you're there.

I’m not a huge fan of meeting Cinderella because she kind of talks at you instead of too you, but I met her by default because she shares a room with Rapunzel and it was actually kind of funny hearing what she and Charming talked about:

Cinderella: hello, oh I love your ears! The bow is lovely. We've been thinking of making little bow like that for the mice, oh but maybe not jaq and Gus. Maybe little Santa hats? Charming: or we could get them little bow ties! Cinderella: oh that's a lovely idea. Charming here thinks I should get a red dress. Charming: well yes, everyone visiting us tonight is matching me but not Cinderella. I think a Red dress would be lovely for the season. Me: yeah, with white fluff. Cinderella: oh that's lovely! I hadn't thought of that, I'll have to talk to fairy godmother and see what she can do.

From there I was headed back to tell Captain Jack what Peter Pan had said when I saw the door for Tiana and Naveen open and They are my Favorite Prince and Princess and I had never met Naveen before so I HAD to go in. Our meet and greet was too fun, I am so Glad I met them. :

Prince Naveen: Do you hear better with those ears? Me: Yes. Both: do you like cheese? Me: Yes. Princess Tiana: oh, see the transition is happening already. We used to be frogs, we know. Eatin' flies and hopping around. So where you from? Me: California. Tiana: what's there to do in California for fun? Me: go to Disneyland. Tiana: well obviously. But besides Disneyland, what's fun out there? Naveen: * loses his words* she's spent too much time in Disneyland. Me: I like to go to the beach. The water is cold, not weirdly warm. Tiana: I would love to go to the beach, but I'm afraid it'll ruin my dress. Me: you used to be a frog and you don't have a waterproof dress? Tiana: it's waterproof. Naveen: it's waterproof! It's made from the lily pad we got married on! Like the dew drops on your tiara! Tiana: it's just so pretty I don't wanna mess it up.

Then they each gave me a hug and it was so fun. When Naveen lost his words he was just sitting there basically going “dfhewhooofdsnvouwhguibreiugonvo” to me. It was hilarious. After meeting my two favorites I had to see if I could make it back to my Captain to tell him what Pan had said so I walked quickly from Liberty Square to Adventureland and got to the line at 10:30. When I got there Captain Jack recognized me immediately as he took my hand and helped me up the steps:

Captain Jack: Back again? Couldn't resist ay? Me: True, but no I have a good reason. Captain Jack: oh? Alright what is it? Me: I spoke with Peter Pan and he said he stole one of your ribs. Captain Jack: One if my ribs? Me: he also said you were missing part of you nose,* Captain Jack Grabs his nose* and one of your pinky toes. Captain Jack: I'm not gonna check my toes, they're both there, I can feel them. Me: Peter said you didn't, and that he stole your rib. Captain Jack: *feels his ribs* no, everyone's there. Me: He must have lied because of my shirt. Captain Jack: ahh, he doesn't like Pirates. That boy is a filthy liar, but you an me, we know. Me: True. Captain Jack: have a great evening, love. And if you see that boy again, tell him I said he better learn to respect his Captain.

I just love how the characters just know like that. I wish I had had time to go back and tell Peter what Captain Jack Said. Peter said Captain Jack is alright for a pirate, he doesn’t hate him, he just likes to pick on him sometimes. I just love how knowing Pan’s hatred of Pirates, and Authority, Captain Jack told him to respect his Captain. That was great!

After that Last Meet and Greet I wandered over to Main Street to take selfies with the frosty castle and i even made there in time to see the snow. So It was a very magical night that I am so glad I got to have. I am so Lucky!

This past week has been a rough one. My weeks usually go Friday-Tuesday. Friday was good, as I spent my night at Princess Fairytale Hall. I love being the photographer of so many beautiful and wonderful princesses.

Saturday-Tuesday I was on Main Street each day. Which... can get kind of frustrating. Don’t get me wrong, I like Main Street, but I like the variety in my shifts occasionally. Everything went pretty normal, until yesterday.

On Tuesday, I got a phone call at about 11am when the start of my shift started at 3:30pm. It was from base saying that I was supposed to be schedule this training and it wasn’t on my schedule. They were asking if I could come in by 2:45pm so I could go to it and they would adjust my time accordingly. 

Of course I said yes! And they also told me what training it was.

PHOTO SUPPORT TRAINING.

Photo Support rarely, if ever, trains College Program kids. I think the Summer Support Team had one CP on the team... and he was benched (so like in case anything happened to the other team members, he would step in but that never happened). 

Basically, if you don’t get it by the name, Photo Support goes around and makes sure everything for the photographers is going smoothly. We change batteries, get water, bathroom breaks, etc. We care about the photographers who are shooting. 

After a long week, finding this out was a complete and utter joy. I feel so honored that I got chosen. I had applied for it just to even see if I’d get it, not thinking I would. 

I’m just so honored, and this just proves, once again, that anything can happen and even magical moments can happen for cast members.

3 months.

What’s insane to think about is that 3 months ago, I was starting my adventure from Omaha, NE to Orlando, FL for the College Program. So much has happened in these three months and it feels like it’s been a year. 

With half the program still left to go, I’m so excited to see where it will take me.

I've been working at the SpacePort all the live long day(s of this week)

Yes I may be exhausted, so much so I had a melt down about how someone in Louisiana met Chris Pratt, but I do love my job. Today was a hard one, there were some guests that were a little more rammy than others, but is my job to help them. Get them in and out of the SpacePort safely, and send them on their way. It’s just harder when you have people jumping down your throat about lost items when you’re supposed to be stacking mountains of flight glasses. Today was difficult, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
