It’s been a week since my program ended and all I can think about is how sad I am. I’m also rather upset with myself that I left. That place has taught me a lot about myself and what I value. Yes, I value my family, but I also value my freedom, friends, and figuring life out along the way. I realized a little too late that going home really wasn’t the best idea, but luckily, Disney isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Guys, I wanted to write about my time on the program. I really did. But I don’t even know how to put it into words. So if you have questions, feel free to send them to me and I can answer them from there.

I am over half way back to Nebraska at this point and I still keep thinking about my friends and how much I miss them. It feels like it’s not okay, but it will be. On my last day running around the Magic Kingdom, I had to stop to see my favorite lost boy, Peter Pan, before he had to go back to Neverland for some time. This lost boy has reminded me it’s okay to grow old, as long as I don’t grow up. Back in August, I took this photo while celebrating a couple of people’s last day. I knew from the moment I took it, it would have to be my Instagram photo on my last day of the program. Now, we’ve come to that day. I’ve said some goodbyes and cried my eyes out multiple times over the last couple days. You see, it’s not parks, or the rides, or even the characters that I’m going to miss. I’m going to miss the cast members that belong with those things. There are days that it’s rough, but these cast members are truly some of the best people I know. So, as I pack up my car, it’s time for me to not say goodbye, but see ya real soon. Last night was my last shift as a Photopass and Disney cast member. Fittingly, I finished my college program run on Main Street, where I started 8 months ago. Fates were at play, and I got to hang out with my favorite tinker, go help guests in the view, and end my night photographing guests on the street facing both the castle and the Christmas tree. Last night was my last Princess Fairytale Hall shift of my college program. I spent practically my entire time in Arendelle eating chocolate, playing hide and snow seek, and photographing these sisters with all of their favorite kingdom friends. Shortly before my night was over, I was called away from Arendelle to be Rapunzel’s photographer for the rest of the night and she and I learned how to camouflage ourselves like Pascal. With only a week separating me from here and home, I’ve been thinking a lot about my time I’ve spent working in Magic Kingdom and my program in full. There’s so much that I’ve done, and so much I didn’t get a chance to do.
