“Coraline” by Neil Gaiman book review
Neil Gaiman has such a beautiful way to write about children to children, which is something I noted in Good Omens too (although I wasn't sure wether that was Pratchett or him).
I especially loved Coraline's characterization: at the beginning she seems very passive, almost used to neglet, because when her parents disappear she doesn't really seem to care. But then when she confronts Other Mohter, by the way she acts and speaks, she proves that she can stand up for herself. I would say that she is a very well "layered" and realistical character.
I also loved the plot: it's very simple, which makes it a perfect children's book, but also entertaining for adults who are looking for a quick cozy read.
