But these are probably the facts you didn’t know about this day: • - it was proposed and started but the current prime minister of india @narendramodi in 2014. - the first official international yoga day was held on 2015. - he declared that “[yoga] is not about exercise but to discover the sense of oneness with yourself, the world and the nature. By changing our lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help in well being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day.” - it is set on 21 Jun because it is the longest day in the northern hemisphere, a.k.a the #summersolstice - there are the most people doing yoga on this day in the northern hemisphere. - it is now endorsed by the United Nations. - it has broken a number of Guinness Book of Records. - there is a theme each year.
