Michael Afton knows the FNAF Mimic’s secret..
Annabelle, where'd you go?
(Concept art below!)
Fiona's death wasn't an accident
In Secret of the Mimic, I don't think Fiona's death was accidental. It is most likely that she died in the fall fest, and there have been many hints that a fire broke out based on the mini games in Help Wanted 2.
I don't think the fire accidentally happened, I think it was orchestrated by somebody who wanted fiona dead. But why? Well, I think it has something to do with Chica. Throughout the game, it is heavily implied that Fiona was the creator of Chica. Whether it was through her own intention or through Fazbear Entertainment itself. Fiona is 100% the owner for Chica and Chica's party world.
I may not have a proper answer who I believe causes the fire. But the answer seems to point towards William Afton himself. Throughout the game, there are a lot of connections to either sister location or security breach.
The last time, we heard Chica's party world was in the game files in sister location. This is because Chica was absent in that game. We always thought that funtime chica may have been rented somewhere else. This could still be the case since we do see funtime chica in pizza simulator. But it turns out Chica's party world was made by a woman named Fiona.
There appears a lot of circus theme throughout the secret of the mimic. William seems to be fixated on circus due to him creating Circus Baby's Pizza World as well as the funtime animatronics.
We also have the fact that there'sa house on top of a hill, which was definitely Edwin and his family's house. It bears a resemblance where the fnaf 4 house is on top of the hill. We also end up going to a room that looks similar to the crying child's room in FNAF 4.
Many of the evidence points towards William Afton being the culprit.
I'm so mad they made it fazfest in fnaf 2 when FALLFEST WAS RIGHT THERE
okay steelwool now release the fallfest DLC and get to work on a classic sit-and-survive style game that takes place in the first freddy's location like a week or two post-MCI
Did an art raffle on Bluesky and among winners was @jesterchan.
Prize was a free sketch for my daily doodles, and they wanted to see this lad, Jackpatch, drawn by me. So here they be, ready to pounce!
Enjoy

I also think David died in '75, it's just weird that there was another accident before that. I wonder if it was also David and he was just hurt (which makes the whole incident in 75 worse tbh) or if it was some random kid or something
also since we know Fiona dies between David's 2nd and 3rd birthdays does that mean she died in 73?? I would assume so but there's also theories saying David died at 6 in 75 which I think would make her death in 72...
still have no idea what month/s fallfest takes place in, which would help clear up a decent amount of the entire timeline. all we really know is it's in the fall, which is at least 3 months it could be (also just realized this means at the latest she could have died less than a month before David's birthday)
another thing is I wonder if Dave/CC's birthday is supposed to be in November. cause ik Dreadbear has a halloween feel to it, but also fnaf 4 was going to be released on Halloween, and if we assume the 5 days till the party starts on, or just after Halloween it'd be November. also still lines up pretty well will the fall but at the same time there's basically no evidence for this (unless you wanna count that one console that was used in ref to CC iirc, which was released in November of 1976 and was discontinued in 1983)
anyways just a bunch of rambling thoughts that ultimately probably don't mean anything, but I thought I'd share anyways
I could see the slight injury to greater injury thing being the case. And yeah, I think Fiona died in 73, shortly before David turned 3 which is part of why it seems so fresh in the birthday reel. I also think that David died exactly on his 5th birthday, and largely map it with the earnings graph. When David turned 2, Edwin was excitedly working on his inventions, so I put that in 72 right around when MCM was starting to spike. Fiona then died a year later at the peak, and things started to steadily decline from there due to Fazbear and the products malfunctioning, until the David died the day of his 5th birthday party, which ended up with the party room being abandoned at the end of 75. Though I do see where the other interpretations are coming from
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I keep hearing dawko talk about a fallfest (in the 70s era) game to explain the mysteries sotm made about it but I don't think there's nearly enough mysteries to make a full blown 70s fallfest game about it. Fiona dying at fallfest can be solved and explained with one newspaper on the ground
I obviously know that fallfest has been being teased for YEARS and they pushed it a lot in sotm but I think at this point it's pushing a future modern day fallfest setting. like I said the Fiona thing can be explained with one newspaper and fallfest is obviously big with how they've been teasing it but that's why I think it'll be in the future
like I think it's not crazy to assume they'll make the big climax finale location (because there isn't a modern day FNAF location set up right now with the pizzaplex out of commission, there's an empty space) a fallfest amusement park taking place in the 2030s, and it's the game where the mimic is the main villain and that's where it's story comes at its crux with Gregory and Vanessa going against it
since it would be on the same carnival grounds it was on decades ago there could be hidden secrets found around the huge map like the Fiona newspaper, MCM animatronics as continuity and Easter eggs since fallfest was pushed in sotm and connected to MCM, and og fazbear fallfest lore in environmental storytelling
this is the only kind of location that could be quote unquote "bigger" or "grander" than the pizzaplex and it'd by all means be awesome and super cool to see and also explain how fazbear ent is still up and running and doing fine even without the pizzaplex. the mimics story climax being at fallfest would connect that modern day game back to sotm just in that being a thing alone
and the secondary villain could easily be vanny!Cassie in this scenario with the main actual campaign being protaganist Gregory (+Vanessa and Freddy by proxy) trying to save Cassie from the mimic and prove his innocence to her after the elevator. then in that game they'd save Cassie and kill the mimic within that campaign at fallfest in a poetic way
just u can't forget this. the tagline of sotm was to understand the past to see the future. we're going back to the future now, sotm was in the past for the sake of understanding it (the mimic, Edwin etc). fallfest is something that doesn't need to be gone back to to understand. it can be history we LEARN in the future as the player
