I have so many headcanons about Norm and Thaddeus, and someone wanted some more, I’m not sure if they wanted more suggestive or just general headcanons, so I’m gonna go with general headcanons for all y’all to feast on!

Thaddeus is extremely physically affectionate, and he loves to touch, hold, grab, or even just have Norm nearby so he can kiss or hug him whenever. Norm is alright with it mostly, because he loves to kiss Thaddeus, but sometimes it’s a bit much.

Norm adores Thaddeus’s kids of the Thadlings a lot, and he loves how they are so welcoming and loving with him. Even if he’s awkward, the littlest kids find him comforting, and the oldest kids tease but do find him a good role model. They call him “Mr. Norm” or “Vaultie” and they typically call Thaddeus “Sir” or “Boss” but they slip up with “Dad/Pa” and it melts both of their hearts.

Thaddeus has a lot of body dysphoria from his mutations, especially with how the FEV/mutagen is changing his body and degrading it, but Norm finds them fascinating and takes time and care to kiss each blemish, scar, and boil on his skin.

Norm just loves to play with Thaddeus’s hair— his body hair, his mustache, and his balding head of hair, all of it— and he likes how soft the auburn/strawberry blonde is when he runs his fingers through it and swirls his fingers. Thaddeus is always left blushing and Norm just can’t help but find his awkward smile adorable.

Thaddeus likes to stare at Norm’s body when he’s just working on a terminal or at their little garden Norm set up at the factory, especially his ass. He likes Norm’s butt a lot and the older kids tease him, Maximus finds it a bit funny while Lucy grumbles and snaps her fingers to grab his attention, but Thaddeus knows what he likes and he likes Norm’s ass. It is a cute butt.

Norm is a huge softie with the kids, so while trying to set up school work and even just a regular sleep schedule, he ends up getting pulled away or a kid pouts, and the whole day is stopped to do something fun. The Thadlings know he’s weak to puppy eyes and Thaddeus tries to get him to realize that the kids are playing on his heartstrings.

Thaddeus and Norm are both massive comic book nerds, and both talk about their fav heroes (Norm is Silver Shroud and Thaddeus is Mistress of Mystery) and just about Hurbis Comics in general. They have a huge shared collection.

Norm finds it funny when Thaddeus plucks him up randomly, and fusses about over Thaddeus’s shoulder. Thaddeus does it mostly to play with him, and Norm finds it sorta funny but mostly annoying.

Deacon?

Deacon actually had some nice brown hair that went to shoulder length but I have a few headcanons as to why he doesn't have it when we meet him in the game.

He had a really bad depressive episode after Barbara died, he got drunk, and out of grief, he shaved it all off.

He actually liked it more than having hair, especially how manageable it was. Later on when he joined the railroad it actually helped him quite a lot when disguising himself.

Speaking of, ever since he was a young boy, he actually enjoyed practicing SFX makeup and makeup in general to help alter his appearance. Sometimes, people would pay him to do their makeup for dates or in general.

He has a pretty decent makeup collection, despite it all probably being expired and god knows what germs fester in there. Has sometimes made his own.

Favourite animal is a deathclaw! One of the Synthes he rescued actually made him a deathclaw plushie as a thank you.

Ending on a more tragic note: before Barbara died, they were in the process of adopting a set of twin, as they believed she was infertile and not a synth. Unfortunately, the adoption didn't go through due to Deacon's depressive state. Luckily they ended up getting adopted by another family.

Gen 3 Synth Headcanon:

I have this headcanon that the slow metabolisms of Gen 3 synths (not needing to eat or sleep as much as humans) was the overcorrection of a flaw with early gen 3s

That, in an attempt to promote rapid healing and cellular regeneration, they were created with super metabolisms, which predictably caused them to require an unsustainable amount of calories, overheat, and rapidly burn themselves out

One of the difficulties of refining gen 3s was balancing these traits (ex: rapid healing without excessive calorie consumption) and many early models end up being unsustainable with a combination of issues and a general inability to regulate their bodily functions

idk if y'all've had crab eggs but they look like this

(tiny lil things in a clump) and they're Really Rich when cooked. I'd compare the texture to egg yolk, but theres more savory seafood flavor. They're also super nutritious, according to my 2 minute Google search

lobster eggs are like that too

I'd like to think mirelurk eggs retained some of those qualities from crab/lobster eggs, and are really orange when you crack them open. You gotta add milk and cook them low and slow if you wanna make an omelette with them, otherwise the egg sets hard and looks kinda dry and cracked.

The resulting mirelurk omelette has got a rich seafood-y taste and a more egg yolk texture than normal omelettes.

Hc that almost everyone in the mojave automatically defaults to using they/them pronouns for strangers and will usually remember to ask for their pronouns when they meet someone new without making a huge fuss over it. It's the wasteland! Prewar cultural norms and expectations are basically obsolete now, so people have the freedom to live their authentic lives free of most forms of judgment. And as the culture changes so too does the language surrounding it. Some folks are a bit slow with the times *cough* legion *cough* but most people were quick to adopt the practice.

ok so I want to know that you think about Swank from FNV pretty please :3

Swank's pretty swanky!

2nd in Command of the Chairmen, immediately ascended to the leader once Benny died.

Immediately began cleaning up Benny's messes and ties.

Despite liking Benny and being a childhood friend, he had a secret hatred of him due to his incompetence and his unwillingness to take advice or criticism.

Ended up doing more complex things (accounting, more business side) to keep the tops running anyway, Benny being more focuses on being the personality and 'mascot' of the Tops.

I don't know if you about this, but there's a glitch where the chairmen switch between black and white suits, (video on it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lM66lDWyVDY) and I HC that Swank was in charge of it, to fit Benny Checker Suit theme.

Swank will also swap his suit every second day so some days he's in a white one, other days he's in a black suit.

Big fan of Elvis and Dean Martin. Can actually be seen occasionally watching some old and run-down reels and holotapes of their movies and songs. Refuses to lend it to the Kings though.

May have a calm and relaxed demeanor but inside he is so stressed and agitated.

i drift in and out of immigrant communities cuz i move a lot and... i’ve seen like 2nd, 3rd gen asians with accents cuz they grew up in Chinatown. 

Obviously there are Asians in fallout, the race, but I’m thinking actual, honest-to-god, asian-american communities are still around in fallout. I’m thinking fallout 4 specifically cuz it’s fresh on my mind, cuz @gold-and-rubies brought up accents.

some asians in fallout 4 like doc sun, the longs, and the nakanos have accents. the most straightforward explanation for those accents is being raised in communities where everyone else has that kind of accent.
