I can't recall the date I posted my story so @katmate6 this is for you.

My first experience meeting Sam and Caitriona is also very brief but memorable to me.

It was in Scotland, on location.

Just a bit of background information, the day before we arrived in Scotland someone had posted on Facebook a notice on the filming locations for that week and the schedule had them filming from early morning untill late that afternoon.

We hadn't planned to go in that direction, but we decided to swing by the area to try our luck. And boy did we get lucky.

We arrived at the site just after noon.

There was a small crowd of fans waiting. We waited along with them.

Just a few minutes later John Bell (who I didn't know at the time) came out from the woods first

followed by Sam and Caitriona. (All in costume of course)

I'm a little embarrassed to say that I was too starstruck to move at first. But my husband insisted I step forward and with some more encouragement from him I walked up to Sam. He was tall. And those eyes are indeed as blue and mesmerizing as they look on screen. (Yes, I was fangirling hard , not going to apologize)

We had a wee chat, I asked for a selfie and he obliged kindly.

Since I was still very tongue tied, my husband mentioned to him that we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and Sam congratulated us with a smile.

We said thank you and moved in Cait's direction, who was standing not far from Sam talking to other fans.

We had a wee chat with her as well, I was too nervous to ask, but Caitriona noticed I was holding my copy of Outlander for them to sign. (I was too starstruck to ask Sam for an autograph -missed opportunity on my part) And she offered to sign it for me. She was also very kind and patient, we asked for a selfie and she obliged kindly. And like Sam, offered her congratulations to us.

Soon after they were ushered into their cars, (off to their lunch break I presume) separate vehicles if I recall correctly.

We stood on the side of the very narrow road watching their cars drive by slowly.

Sam had his window down and saw us. We waved goodbye to him and he waved back and gave us another hearty congratulations which was super sweet of him.

Needless to say I was on a high for a while after that.

A funny addendum to this story:

The next day we arrived at Midhope Castle as part of our trip, and the guard at the entrance chatted with us a while, before we entered the grounds he told us to "Go find Jamie" as a joke to which we casually replied "Oh we already found him yesterday." and told him our experience. I don't think he was expecting that. 😆

So that was my crazy yet brief encounter with our lovely couple. And I'll treasure that moment for the rest of my life.
