Major Valice Universes: Forgotten Vows Verse
And here's the other major universe of the moment, the one that's getting most of my creative efforts right now:
Title: The Forgotten Vows Verse Synopsis: After setting Emily free that cold January night, Victor Van Dort thought his life was going to return to normal. Fate, however, had other plans. Almost before he knew it, his engagement to Victoria Everglot was broken, Pastor Galswells decried him as a devil-worshipper, and his parents accused him of being completely insane. Their desperate attempts to cure him eventually led them to London’s East End and one Dr. Angus Bumby. . .and Victor to a young lady named Alice Liddell. History: This one evolved right here on my tumblr. Back when I was first coming up with ideas for the Travelers Verse, I made a post stating about how, in that verse, Nell and William briefly flirted with the idea of sending Victor to Dr. Bumby, but ended up deciding against it. And right at the end, I mentioned an AU of the verse where they did and Victor ended up in “Alice: Madness Returns.”
The AU verse quickly became the main verse. I made another post detailing my ideas of how Victor would fit into that world, then started writing little fanfic snippets from it, and then – then, about then my friend Rose introduced me to the tumblr RP scene. And I decided that the Victor from this verse would be fun to play. And thus was born Forgotten Vows, so-named because a) I like naming my Victors things that relate to quirks of theirs, and b) because it fit in well with the basic plot of Bumby eventually getting his claws in Victor’s brain. Fun was had in RP land, he gained an Alice, chatted with lots of people, and slowly I decided that he needed a proper backstory. And after lots of planning, dithering, and wondering what to call shit, I started writing “Losing You.” As of this writing, I’m within a few chapters of the end of “Finding You,” the second story of the verse. Crossovers: Corpse Bride/American McGee’s Alice with an AU Madness Returns Pairings:
Victor Van Dort/Alice Liddell
Christopher White/Victoria Everglot (just guess who White's supposed to reference XD)
Jeremy Samuel "Bonejangles" Thatcher/Elizabeth Liddell (Yes. I totally ship them. You have to admit, he's pretty much the opposite of any Oxford toady. Also, that is my Bonejangles's real name, but he always goes by "Sam" when he's not BJ -- he hates Jeremy.)
Stories: This is a bit complicated, as we have different "groupings" of stories. So, let's get on that:
Background/General (aka stuff I've written previously that would fit into this verse without a problem):
Absence of Hate -- Nell's thoughts on Victor's birth
Golden Afternoon -- Arthur's thoughts on Alice's birth
Not So Innocent -- Teenage Victor isn't as innocent as he looks
Vorpal Blade -- Alice's favorite weapon awaits the return of its mistress
The _____ You Cycle:
Losing You -- covers from the end of "Corpse Bride" to shortly before Victor arrives at Houndsditch; completed
Finding You -- covers Victor's arrival at Houndsditch to not long before "Alice: Madness Returns;" in-progress
Forgetting You -- covers "Alice: Madness Returns" and Victor's involvement in such; being written
Remembering You -- covers post-A:MR to Victor's recovery; upcoming
Side Stories/Still Being Worked Out:
Untitled Lizzie/Bonejangles -- covers the elder Liddell's arrival in the Land of the Dead, Lizzie and Bonejangles meeting and falling for each other, and what happens when Bumby arrives Downstairs
Untitled Victoria Side Story 1 -- covers what happens after Victor's visit in "Losing You" Chapter 5; Victoria's feeling rather guilty
Untitled Victoria Side Story 2 -- covers what happens after Victoria meets Alice in "Forgetting You"
Untitled Post You -- covers Victor and Alice managing to visit the Land of the Dead and meet up with her family
Yeah -- big-ass universe, right? The main difference between this and Secundus is that Secundus is one big story with lots and lots of little ones at the moment; while this is going to be a series of fairly big stories. Also, I need lots and lots of titles. (Any ideas?)
