Fandom Focus #46

I haven't done one of these in a while and I've cycled through a few fandoms since the last one...apologies. Also new fandoms incoming, as well as old favourites...

Heated Rivalry - I kept seeing edits of this show EVERYWHERE but I'm in the UK...so I did the piracy thing and I AM OBSSESSED. It's taken over my brain and I am so down bad for this show, for Shane and Ilya, and Scott and Kip, and Svetlana and the whole thing. Got Shane & Ilya's books on pre-order (they don't come out her till Jan 29th next year??!!), may need Scott and Kip's too cause ep 3 made me love them and...yeah I'm insane about this show!

Stranger Things - I did a whole re-watch before S5 Vol 1 and god I fell headfirst into it. I really do love this show (FUCK Noah Schnapp and Brett Gelman though, zionist fuckers, and FREE PALESTINE!!) and I'm so excited to see how it ends! If they kill Steve, or Dustin or hell, anyone (apart from Will or Murray cause I wanna see zionists die violently) I'll riot. Also fell back into Steddie fanfic, my beloved. He was a side character & I knew he wouldn't be back but I do miss Eddie.

Versailles - So I got into another new fandom. For the gays. I say new, this show has been out since 2015 and ended in 2018 I think? I've seen it around, and then I was re-watching Merlin and remembered Alex Vlahos (Mordred) was in this & GAY so...I went down a rabbit hole. I am obssessed I fear, though I've paused watching cause the last ep made me so sad and ANGRY...will finish it soon! I'm loving it sm.

Frankenstein 2025 - I know the basic story beats of Frankenstein, though I've never seen an adaptation all the way through or read the book. Then Guillermo Del Toro made a movie and put Oscar Isaac in it and I had to watch. I fell in love with this film, it is so stunning, I honestly can't even...reading so many fics!

IWTV 2022 lives in my mind rent-free all the time tbh, and I need to get back on my fic series for it now I'm done with my Master's degree, it's just that living in the real world where I work 5 days a week has been kicking my butt. Also been listening to the audiobooks of the Mortal Instruments and I forgot how much I loved them.

Also ngl, Conan Gray and his newest album and ALL his music owns my mind and soul, so much so I'm going to see him in concert next year!! Anyway, that's basically it rn.

Fandom Focus #43

Oh how things have changed...I even have a whole NEW fandom I'm into, which is coming up first...

Dead Boy Detectives - So I kept seeing stuff about this on here and thought I'd give it a try in a few weeks. And then I got over-excited and binged it all in one night, and OMG SO FUCKING GOOD! What the hell did they put in this show, cause it's fucking addictive. Everyone go and watch it right now! I adore the main four (Crystal, Charles, Edwin & Niko) and their group dynamics and all the ships and...just go watch it!!

X-Men (Cherik mainly) - I don't even remember what started me on this but I'm back on my Cherik bullshit, reading fics and watching edits, and I re-watched First Class (thee BEST X-Men movie in my opinion) and I'm just...so into everything Charles and Erik atm.

Interview With the Vampire 2022 - OMG SEASON 2 IN A WEEK!!! I am so fucking excited, I am bursting. It's going to be such a good season I can feel it in my bones - I am LIVING for it!

Jurassic Park - I've been on one, and been re-watching the first two movies a LOT....just the best movie franchise ever (to me) and I wrote my uni assessment from the POV of the Doe T-Rex in The Lost World. Love the whole franchise but those first two movies just hit different for me.

IT movies - Yeah I did a re-watch of them. Wrote some more of my IT fic. Read a lot of Reddie fics. Massively obssessed with them still.

Young Royals still has it's own lil space carved in my brain! And Six of Crows/Shadow & Bone has a grip too (Jesper and Erik's powers? Kaz and Erik's demeanors? Maybe I need to write a SoC and X-Men cross-over?)

Fandom stuff - update

The Witcher Season 3: So, this will be the last season of Witcher I watch, for many reasons. However, I have not watched vol 2 yet, though will get too it soon. I loved vol 1!

Gwen & Art Are Not In Love: Okay, I finally read this book - bought it to read on holiday and got through it so quickly. It was AMAZING and I highly recommend. I get why I was seeing so much about it now!

Red, White & Royal Blue: I had NO IDEA what this was, but I watched the movie trailer anyway and it seemed fun. I have now finished the book (read it in one day) and it made me laugh and cry, so I will definitely be watching the movie and talking about it.

Heartstopper: SEASON 2 IS COMING ON AUGUST 3RD BABY!!!!!!!!!! It will be binged immediately. I am not sorry for who I will be when it's out.

AMC IWTV Season 2: That trailer did the impossible - it made me love Armand. I am SOLD. And I cannot wait!

Six of Crows: I finally finished the first book, and will be making my way onto Crooked Kingdom asap. These books are PHENOMONAL and I hope Netflix continue the show.

Good Omens 2: I mean...look at my blog. Look at my name. Yes I will be watching it later today (it's 2:18am here). Yes there will be spoilers. I will have a seperate post for it. I AM VERY EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fandom Focus #41

Red, White & Royal Blue - This one is not leaving me alone honestly. Everytime I think it is, that it's fading, it somehow reignites. And honestly I'm not unhappy about it. I love this movie, and the book, and Alex and Henry so much.

Shadowhunters (mainly Malec) - So I went on a Shadowhunters binge a couple of weeks ago...honestly it was both good and bad. There are good parts of the show (mainly Malec, honestly), but there have always been parts I majorly disliked or even out-right hated (especially as a book fan). On the re-watch I found more to hate/dislike and that upsets me. On the other hand, Malec are just the fucking best and perfection in that show, as are Izzy and Maia. So I focus on that. So reading Malec fics for the win!

Interview with the Vampire 2022 - Um...yeah I've re-watched the show like 3 times in the past few weeks, on a loop...it's back bitches and I cannot wait for season 2! I hope to write some more of my current fic series for it too. God I miss this show.

Mary & George - I went into this show with like, the expectation of watching Nicholas Galitzine being gay and Julianne Moore getting to say fuck and those being the best parts and it being mid... INSTEAD I got one of the best period dramas I've ever seen and I cannot stop thinking about it. It was a fantastic drama, and also taught me so much about that period of history...go watch it if you can, it's FABULOUS!

The ones on the back-burner at the minute are Shadow & Bone show/Six of Crows (bought the collectors edition of it and began re-reading it), and Heartstopper too (season 3 WHEN?!). Also begun a re-watch of The Vampire Diaries for the first time in a while and omg it is soooooo 2000s but it's such good fun.

Fandom Focus #42

Young Royals - After I binged this show it kinda took over my brain. I'm in deep, and I am loving it. Can't believe it took me so long to dive into it but I'm having a great time in this fandom so far!

Interview with the Vampire 2022 - It's a comin'! It's almost time for season 2, we've been fed with teasers and trailers galore and I am so freaking excited for this you have NO IDEA!!! About to be obsessed with this show again for a long time!

Six of Crows/Shadow and Bone - GUESS WHO MET KAZ AND INEJ?!!!! AND HAD A PHOTO WITH THEM?! AND GOT THEM TO SIGN MY COLLECTORS EDITION OF SIX OF CROWS?! It was so fucking amazing, and I got to ask Freddy a question at the panel - he confirmed Kaz is Wylan's father figure and he tried to embody that which I love! Yeah so been reading fics. Knee deep in love with this universe again.

Mary & George - I need to rewatch it. It's circling in my brain honestly. What a good show. Everyone go watch it now (for my USA friends it's coming out on Starz on the 5th, and might well hit pirating sites as well soon if it hasn't already).

Red, White & Royal Blue is still circling my head, don't worry. It will not leave me alone! Jurassic Park is also in my brain (and I may be doing a uni assessment to do with it too), and Heartstopper has a small corner too!

Fandom Focus #40

Yep another one so quickly...what can I say...

Red, White & Royal Blue - This is still number one. Working on my first multi-chapter fic for it too! I love Alex and Henry with my whole heart, they have consumed my life.

Shadow & Bone/Six of Crows - So...I may have bought the collectors edition of Six of Crows cause it's beautiful and I couldn't resist. And then I had to start re-reading it and re-watch the show and read loads of fics because the Crows own my heart!

Heartstopper - Still can't get enough of these cutie pies, and I am stoked for season 3! I want more Heartstopper!

Also still on my Fanon HP bs, much to my personal unhappiness. My Interview with the Vampire 2022 obsession has also flared back to life after I re-watched it with my mum (it was her first time watching, and our second attempt at watching it all the way through together). Also re-watching Criminal Minds - a great show!

Fandom Focus #35

Time for another one...

Good Omens - This is still number one. I am in love with the new season, and it broke my heart. Many fanfictions are being planned and noted down. Anyway... Just one more thing to say: THEY'RE SO MARRIED.

Heartstopper - HEARTSTOPPER 2 TOMORROW GUYS!!! OMG, I AM SO EXCITED! Back in my Heartstopper era, and I am so excited to see my babies Nick & Charlie, and Tara & Darcy, and Isaac! Also Elle, Imogen, Tori, and hell even Tao, plus all the new characters!

Red, White & Royal Blue - I fell down a rabbit hole. I'd heard about this a lot, so I went and watched the trailer for the movie - it seemed fun and cute. Then I read the book - I am now on my 2nd read of it, and slightly (read: very) obsessed. Can't believe I get Heartstopper and then this! August is for the QUEERS!

Also still a little obsessed with Shadow & Bone - I finally began reading Crooked Kingdom - and also The Wicther. Jaskier and Geralt's scenes in Brokilon, Jaskier x Radovid angst and fluff, Ciri being a badass, Yennefer being the bets mother and daughter...

Fandom Focus #39

So...this is a scary one...

Red, White & Royal Blue - I think they're gonna live in my head forever...and I'm okay with that. I got the special edition of the book at Christmas, with the drawings and extra chapter, and I just love this universe so much!

Heartstopper - Yes, I've rewatched it twice in the last two days. I'm in my feelings, I want season 3 now! I also went on a binge of the comics too. I am living in this world!!

Criminal Minds - Got into this show super recently (on season 15 now) and I love it! Reid and Garcia are my absolute faves but I love the teams found family dynamic and the whole show!

I've also started a Merlin rewatch recently, as well as a rewatch of Interview with the Vampire (2022) with my mum! I am also in a HP phase, kinda, but like, fanon stuff. I've been watching cosplay vids and reading fanfics.
