how e621 tags genitalia is soooo gross
like, no, i dont wanna see tags of a literal fucking slur. you can tell the fuckin fu slur being pornified into what it is now has crept in to how it considers herm to be an inherently "female" word
also if both have both, why the fuck do we have 2 slur tags?? just say "bigenital" when you mean that. also the lang on this shit is so clunky but theres bigger issues.
like??
also they kept the word intersex but just gave subtags which. whatever. stg they pmo so bad but least its not as bad as the r34 website and the fact its completely overran with AI
Can people stop using the h slur even if it's to "describe animals" or aliens in this case.
and people are going "yeah cuz it's scientifically incorrect" I CAN GIVE LESS THAN TWO SHITS ABOUT THAT HOW QBOUT WE DONT USE A SLUR BECAUSE ITS A SLUR WHICH WAS MADE TO OTHER A MINORITY GROUP??! HOW ABOUT THAT FOR A FUCKING CHANGE???
I'm tired of "accuracy" about a fictional species being more important than not continuing to use a slur to describe their reproduction because it's offensive, just how it's offensive to use wrt animals.
Actually I need to remove "mpreg" from cis-perisex fandom-goers' vocabulary NOW
just experienced several people wave away a character's intersexuality becausd their CANON CIMI backstory is "too upsetting" and "it makes me happier to think of them* as living their best trans life" (as their SIG)
*degendering, the story explicitly mentions the character's preferred pronouns, and the struggle to be acknowledged by them
This is intersexism.
It's... Too upsetting? That's the reason they feel comfortable degendering and erasing their identity and forcing the character to identify as their SIG?
I'm putting traumatized, nuanced queer characters on the top shelf until people are ready to just. Engage with such stories. Because what.
i’m genuinely convinced that all the anons describing their surprisingly accurate and genuinely touching intersex fics are just lying abt writing it atp because everytime i try finding their shit i just find rape rape rape porn porn slur slur torture torture torture. intersex characters only exist in fanfiction to be a punching bag and a fleshlight rolled into one
this is intersexism.
I completely understand that feeling, anon. honestly, I'm tempted to make a doc or archive of fics that are actually intersex positive, but I'm far too busy and burnt out for it.
character x reader fanfics always being for perisex she/her or he/him readers.
this is intersexism and exorsexism.
I keep getting recommended clips of this sci-fi show (it kinda looks like Star Trek) and apparently there’s an episode that talks about IGM within a species that is typically all male, with variations being ‘corrected’ after birth. From little I’ve seen, it seems to be handled fine enough? I haven’t seen the full show so I dunno
My issue isn’t with that, its that people in the comments often don’t seem to realize that its trying to tackle a real world issue (someone even tried to use doctors not telling a character about signs of IGM when they noticed it as a way to I guess say the plotline made no sene) and trying to point it out always gets a “chill its not that deep” response when it clearly is??
A lot of shows have plotlines that mirror real world issues. The entire discussion of whether or not to mutilate their child, and the realization that one of the parents went through IGM, and the whole “you had that decision made for you” narrative is very much a reflection of reality. Sure, bringing up Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer is sort of funny (at least until you consider that Rudolph is yet another story that reflects reality with the ostracization of children with noticeable physical differences, even if it is a bit dated with the whole “but you can excel BECAUSE of your difference” narrative) but that doesn’t mean the story doesn’t have any merit or parallels to the real world
Again, haven’t seen the show. I might watch it if it is actually good
The show you are talking about is The Orville, and the Moclan is the alien species that perform genital mutilation on their female population as a commentary on real life “corrective surgeries” forced on babies such as FGM and, yes, IGM.
Like i said in another ask, its been a very long time since I watched the show so i may not be 100% on the whole plot but one of the main characters Bortus and his husband Klyden (who is the parent that was also a victim of these surgeries and who was the most supportive of the surgery) had a baby together on The Orville during their expedition, but the baby is born a female and Klyden takes Bortus to court for not “fixing” their child. The entire episodes plot circles around the humans, who outlawed IGM and FGM centuries prior to this trial, trying to convince the Moclan Supreme Court that it’s inhumane and to let Bortus keep his daughter a female. I can’t tell you how the episode ended, but it was absolutely a reflection of real life, and if you watched the rest of the series (and the sci-fi that inspired it like Star Trek) pretty much every episode had a commentary on real life social and political issues, so for people to say its “not that deep” have clearly not seen the show.
