It's been hard to accept that's the case because I guarantee she has undiagnosed OCD and possible a general anxiety issue, and she's well-intentioned (in this case it was concern about a possible fire hazard but I had the situation under control... I think the worst-case scenario paranoia stems from anxiety)... But the path to hell is paved with good intentions, so it doesn't negate the emotionally abusive aspect, nor does her almost certain undiagnosed issues... At this point I mostly just ignore it, because she's all talk and I can recognize the behavior for what it is, but it's real frustrating. She wonders why I don't tell her stuff, and this is exactly why. Also, bae, I really want that second option to be the one that happens!

being a fanfic writer is fun because its like

“okay, this game that i like actually has a world perfectly set up for the weird shit i like, with exactly zero explanation needed because of how canon is.  but im not really interested enough for fanfic.”

“this game has exactly zero actual explanation for the shit i want to write, but im invested in the characters so rather than saying it happens because i said so, im going to instead string together a bunch of minor details from lore, gameplay, worldbuilding, and sidequests to form an almost plausible explanation held together by really flimsy extrapolations on said minor details which would make a conspiracy theorist proud”

because using canon that actually is prefect for what you wanna write is too easy, and “it’s this way because its my fic and i do what i want” is too simple.
