I’m just going to pretend episode 20 doesn’t exist.
Episode 19...The WInchesters defeated Chuck, said goodbye to Jack, and then drove off into the sunset to live out their lives. They carried on. They got their peace when they were done. They didn’t cry no more. THE END.
They didn’t need the death scene. They didn’t need Sam wasting away pining for his brother (and who was the mother of his child? Why didn’t they at least show that it was Eileen to have it make some sense??). And if they were going to show heaven, fucking SHOW HEAVEN. His parents are RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD, ffs! Let’s see them all getting together again! Not this...20 minute music video bullshit we got. Un-fucking-necessary.
Also, news flash: men can have loving, caring, fulfilling relationships with each other that are not romantic or sexual. It’s called having a best friend.
To say otherwise cheapens men’s emotions down to their base and that’s just wrong. To assume that if they say ‘i love you’ they must be gay, is homophobic.
Also, also? Foreign dubs are NOTORIOUSLY wrong or misconstrued/wrongly interpreted.
I admit, when I first got spoiled on it and looked back at previous episodes, I had a ‘what if’ moment. But when I watched it? Are you fucking kidding me?? I get that the show pushed that and hinted at that just to fuck with the fandom (or pander to them, which is even worse), but can we not insert silly, made up fetishes into things that don’t exist just because society has deemed that men can only express ANGER or they must be gay?
Don’t believe me? Imagine if they were women. No one would say shit about that ‘i love you’. No one would assume they are gay or bi or any of the other dumb fan theories people have pulled out of somewhere. There wouldn’t be any of this shipping garbage because women are allowed to have feelings.
In closing, as much as I love SPN, as much as it’s cool to have a show be going for so long, it sacrificed its soul to do so (remember when that actually meant something on the show?). All of the things that made the story neat and interesting were gone, replaced by recycling and literally resurrecting old formulas.
