My Top Four Favorite Movies...
Hi Guys! I figured I've never really written on here and this is a blog so why not talk about my top four favorite movies and why I love them?
Definitely one of the newly released films but ultimately of my favorite films of all time. This movie is about two nerdy girls who are best friends and are on a mission to in one night prove they are fun by going to a party for the first time. The comedy in this film is hilarious, Olivia Wilde's vision and artistic choices of telling a simple story feels so time, the soundtrack is impeccable, and the complex characters are so refreshing to see in a teen movie. This film to me feels timeless and maybe we will all be quoting "Barcelona" in 10 years.
While the oldest movie on this list, Empire Records is amazing. Think of Breakfast Club meets 90s record shop and that's Empire Records. The movie follows a group of teens working in an indie record shop that need to work together to save their store from going chain. This movie has an amazing soundtrack, the ensemble cast emphasises their characters perfectly, and the vibe of the film is definitely one that tries to make all outsiders feel normal. This film is also quotable such as "Sinead O Rebellion, shock me, shock me, shock me with that deviant behavior!" and features many iconic looks such as Corey Mason's plaid skirt and crop top look. This movie also has good comedy and good dose of nostalgia.
Without a doubt, Baby Driver is a cinematic masterpiece. Edgar Wright delivered with this truly modern work of art. A getaway driver obsessed with good music falls in love but struggles to not let his secret life interfere with the life he wanted. The performances by the ensemble are outstanding. The synchronized music with the visuals is remarkable. The chemistry between Baby and Debra is so natural and almost realistic. There's action. There's love. And there's good music. Really love this film with all of my heart
Finally, the film that has beautifully left an impact on me forever: Love Simon. A film about a closeted gay teen who falls in love via email but is blackmailed by a classmate otherwise he will be outed. This film encapsulates modern day high school life without a doubt. The cast all works so well together. The soundtrack has an amazing 80s vibe to it hence Bleachers. And the message of the film is so beautiful to accept yourself and love yourself fully. This film is full of amazing quotes. Nick Robinson and Jennifer Garner put on amazing performances. This film also led me to this very website and inspired me to be myself and stand up for others and I cant be more thankful for that. If you love good high school movies or 80s teen movies or anything that will make you happy, this is the perfect film for that.
Well those are my top 4 favorite movies of all time! If you want me to make another post like this please reply. Let me know if you love any of these films too in the comments. Hope you enjoyed these posts and I'll hopefully write more posts- Artsyfangirl3
