But Lady Gotham loves Robin, and his core is small and delicate and barely-developed compared to an older ghost’s, but polished bright and reflecting lamplight-signal luminesce. 

So yeah, Lady Gotham really loves him, because Danny can’t imagine who else’s luminescence that his core would be reflecting like that. 

Or who else would’ve polished it that bright, since he also can’t imagine her letting anyone else close enough to do it. 

Lady Gotham is actually, like, a little bit insane, Danny’s pretty sure? Like . . . possibly more than a little bit, even. Or maybe she’s just too much to be kept contained in just one mind, just one Obsession, just one core. 

And right now Robin is all wrapped up in her shadows like he’s her Obsession. 

Technically he is, Danny guesses. An aspect of it, anyway. 

So yeah, that probably counts. 

Danny’s sure as heck not gonna be the one to tell her it doesn’t, king or not.

I keep trying to hit the kudos button when I reread your fics but it doesn't let me. Is getting comments on ao3 nice or stressful? Would you find it irritating if I started commenting *kudos* when I reread? I want to be able to tell you how much I love your writing even though it's hard for me to use my words.

Getting comments is always wonderful! I’m not always the best about answering them, which I feel bad about, but I absolutely love getting them. It’s great to know people are reading and enjoying what I write.

I think most writers would say that this kind of thing is always appreciated. It lets us know that we aren’t posting into the void, and also inspires us to keep writing.

If you feel like telling me something in particular you liked, that’s always super cool, but even a simple comment saying kudos is great. :)

ahahahaha! 💕  I’m glad you liked it. I know Izuna/Mito is not even a plank of wood on the sea of rare pairings considering these two have very limited canon ANYTHING never mind moments together, so I was a bit worried no one would read it. I mean, @elenathehun and I are the only ones who have anything under that tag on AO3 for goodness sake.

Which is a shame because (1) they’re pretty - that’s the shallow reason, (2) most of Izuna’s canon appearances can be summed up as “Fight Me, Senju!” as a friend put it, and (3) Mito looked up at a giant fox, tightened her lips, and then made it do as SHE wanted.

I know some people make Mito demure or take Izuna’s young death and sorta woobify him but... Honestly? I’m fairly sure canonically that they were just as terrifying and unwavering as the other people they associated with, were possibly even less nice, and were simply much less obvious about having those qualities.

(Which makes for interesting possibilities in my head.)

“Oh,” Tim says, and no one says anything else. Bruce should be. Should be asking questions. Making assessments. Taking notes, at this point. 

He doesn’t. 

He doesn’t say a word. 

And Jackson Kyle doesn’t fill the silence like Kon-El would. 

Alfred comes down the stairs with a tea tray in hand, and pauses a few steps from the bottom. Raises an eyebrow. He can’t see into the cells from that position. Bruce should set up a feed there, he thinks vaguely. Or hell, just a mirrored surface or two. That could be dangerous, if something ever– 

“Hm,” Alfred says. “I take it we’re having another apocalypse, then. I hope you’ll be handling it in a timely fashion, sir, I did have plans for the garden this weekend.” 

Bruce doesn’t even know if it was him or Tim that Alfred got that impression from, but . . . well, it’s not exactly inaccurate. 

From a certain point of view, anyway. 

Tim winces, and Jackson–laughs. Just once. Brief and abrupt and cut sharply in half, but a laugh all the same. Alfred raises both eyebrows, then heads down the last few steps. Bruce hasn’t signaled him not to, so . . . of course he does. He also sets down the tea tray on the main table, and steps over to see who they’ve got laughing in a cell that neither he nor Tim is masked up in front of. 

Of course he does. 

Alfred looks at Jackson. Jackson doesn’t look at him. Or–well, not quite straight-on, anyway. More . . . vaguely in his direction. 

Alfred tilts his head. 

“Jackson Kyle, Alfred Pennyworth,” Bruce says, because it’s not like Jackson doesn’t know anyway. The more relevant part is–“Alfred Pennyworth, Jackson Kyle. Level Omega reality. Final phase.” 

“Hm,” Alfred says again. Bruce doesn’t mention the pearls to him. There’s no point. 

Even Alfred doesn’t know that code, after all.
