Queen Doria: *Knocking quietly on the door to Irene's study* Irene. Irene please. Open the door. I know it's late, but please..

*the door opens*

Lady Irene: What is it? You are right. It's very late.

Queen Doria: Yes. Yes. I'm sorry, but this is very important. Please look at this correspondence and tell me I'm reacting too strongly. *she hands a letter to Irene*

Queen Doria: I know we don't always see eye-to-eye, especially recently, but tell me that this letter isn't..threatening.

Queen Doria: I've been sitting over this letter for hours and I just..I don't know what to do. It's so short but somehow..just..If I say 'no' and she feels offended then it could end badly regardless of if she originally had mal intent, but if I say 'yes'?? I mean, who's first correspondence to to talk about castle defenses??

Lady Irene: Shh shh. Please, calm down. I wish i could disagree with you, but this feels oddly short, and yes, of an odd topic. To me, though, the most concerning part is her certainty that you will agree to it. If you say 'yes' it is most likely the 'flaw in your defense' would be your naivety. If you say 'no', then yes you run the risk of offending her. 

You were right to bring this to me, however..I can't make the choice for you. If you allow her to come for an audience it would be on your terms at least. Whereas if you do not allow her to come, then you would have no earthly idea what's to come.

Queen Doria: That's true. I would have it under my own conditions. I don't know that it is the right decision, but perhaps I will write back to her in morning and welcome her to the realm.

Lady Irene: I don't think there is a right decision. Let's just hope that we are both gravely overthinking this and that Her Majesty, Queen of Amoriz, really does want nothing more than to help us.

Abbadom and Caldice met each other as children and became fast friends, as in the other universe. Abbadom was the daughter of a local lord's blacksmith, who taught her how to wield weapons, and she lived with her family in a small village near the lord's castle, while Caldice lived in a cave nearby in his nest with his mom. Tensions between the humans and dragons living within this area are high, but Abby and Cald continue their friendship regardless.

When they grow up, Abby marries a merchant while Cald becomes a knight (well, technically first he would have left to be a page and then a squire, but let's defy logic for the purpose of shitty story-telling), their paths separating them. Cald serves his queen dutifully and unquestioningly, while Abby runs her household and starts to be influenced by the racism towards monsters around her.

Abbadom's lord was no less aggressive towards monsters than the commoners living on his lands, and staged a rebellion against the "monster queen". One of his actions is to completely destroy Caldice's nest. The rebellion is put down, with help of Sir Caldice, who fueled by anger and grief completely burns the rebellious lord's lands, in the process killing Abbadom's entire family.

Abbadom turns vengeful from loosing her family. She swears revenge on all dragons and monsters who walk the earth, especially the one she was once foolish enough to call a friend. She quickly gains reputation for being a skilled hunter. She wears the claw of her first kill as a trophy on her neck. She travels from place to place, weeding out the dragons she meets. But her true goal is Caldice, the one directly responsible for widowing her and leaving her childless.

Caldice begins to experience guilt and doubt in regards to his actions, and his service. He ends up slowly turning away from his duties and escaping to the royal library. Gradually, he ends up the librarian's assistant, no longer able to find the conviction in himself to perform his duties.

Meanwhile, Abbadom continues to travel and hunt through the lands, and to gather a band of racists to overthrow the queen.

OH YEAH and Caldice is famed for having the longest and fullest and most beautiful eyelashes in the royal court, his eyelashes are the jealousy of all the ladies, yeaaah
