My Sunflower

I drove past your house a little while ago. I knew it was a bad idea. But I hoped, in some stupid way you'd hear my car and change your mind. Be flooded with memories of better times. Then I drove around to places that I'd taken you on dates, places where we had made memories and let the past wash over me.

I don't know if we'll work things out. Or if this is just a fluke of the full moon, but I'm glad I have those memories of you. Theyre something I'll hold dear to my heart forever. I'm glad I got to spend the time with you that I did. I vainly look forward to the last two chances I get to see you. Maybe things will be different by then. I don't know. I just know that I love you forever.

Maybe we flew too close to the sun. Maybe flew too high too fast. Like a spark it was brilliant, Now is it dimming? I don't know. I don't know much these days. Just that I'm not ready to give up yet.
