Emus may not be able to fly, but for such a big bird they sure can run. Standing at 5.2 - 6.2 feet high, these flightless birds have small wings relative to their body size. Today, Year 6 students from Start-Rite School (@startriteschool), Abuja visited @Almatfarms for an excursion visit. The visit afforded the students the opportunity to comprehend the interactions between the farm and the natural environment as well as learn about the horses and various species of animals in our petting zoo such as emus, ostriches, camels, tortoises, gazelles, cochins, amongst others. The students also visited the Greenhouses which provided them with insights on the innovative and sustainable farming techniques being employed here at the farm.
