Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

Fated Mates is the first book written by Callie that I have read and I liked it. I didn't really know what to expect from her as an author but when I read the book description I knew I wanted it and Callie didn't disappoint.

This book is dark and can trigger victims of abuse. It's interesting, I haven't read to many stories, if any, about abuse. Sable is a sweet person but who has been abused most of her life by her uncle. She hasn't had a chance to experience anything or had a chance to grow into a person due to her uncle's confinement and abuse. However as the book goes on and she is out from under her uncle's thumb she is learning things about herself, the guys, and the world around her.

As for the guys I have to say that they all bring a little something to the table but each and every single one of them, care about Sable. They respect her decisions, aren't pushy, and helps her deal with her past trauma. The harem is a little different than what I am used to, in this harem the guys had to work at becoming a group, to get along. In the previous books I've read the guys are either use to harems or they are already friends, to begin with, and don't really have a problem so it was different seeing the guys work at it, all for the sake of the women they care for.

Overall, Fated Mates was an interesting slow-burn reverse harem. The mfc was caring and a survivor who is continually growing stronger and coming out of her shell while the alpha males all come together for her happiness. This was a great start to the series, getting to know the world and the main characters with a little steam to make things interesting. The book ended on a cliffhanger so I am very interested to see how the guys respond to the event that happened at the end of the book.

Overall 4 stars
