The fantasy racism storyline is a major point of contention in discussions about the quality of the show's writing, but I would encouraging anyone willing to put in the time to read (or look through wikis and youtube video essays) One Piece to compare its approach to Fantasy Racism vs RWBY's. I think both stories approach the subject with similar influences (US Civil Rights movement, discord in the oppressed group, moving forward, segregation etc) and intentions on how the storyline would move forward, which is why I want to make this comparison. It's easier to explain WHY I think the faunus storyline was poorly done when I can show an example of the same general storyline/allegory that I think did it right.
If people are interested in me yapping about the comparison further I might talk more about it, bc I don't want to clog up the inbox with one massive essay on Why You Should Read One Piece COUGHS i mean OP vs RWBY fantasy racism just now. Unless I am enabled.
