I haven’t done a #WeirdassWednesday in a while, so here are two very weird and cool little #Hammertone #Octave12 models by #FBass spotted at @capsulemusic #Toronto. These instruments are like #mandolins, but tuned E to E like a 12 string #guitar (one octave higher) and as the #CapsuleMusic website describes it, they produce a “wonderful, shimmering chime”. With those single coil pickups I can imagine a sound like a #Fender #ElectricXII with a capo at the 12th fret! The name Hammertone is a nod to the city in which they are built - #Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, affectionately known as “#TheHammer” to residents and neighbouring well-wishers. 😀.
