Do we underestimate the power of God?
Today I was driving home from the store and I happened to look at the sky. It’s a beautiful day, the clouds are all fluffy and the sky baby blue. It made me think about God and His power of creation. He created everything that we see and the things that we don’t see. The birds, the trees, knowledge, laughter.. all were created by God. That’s power. Last time I checked, I couldn’t create a world or a being. No one can, not like God did. So, knowing all this.. why do we put God in a little box and say what He can and can’t do? The answer is simple, we are human.
Being human isn’t a bad thing. We all are, we all have our doubts, our ways of thinking. But, God is bigger than all that. We can be given knowledge even being humans. (Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”) If we fear (reverence) God and know that He is able, He is mighty, He is greater than anything in this world, that’s when we can realize and be knowledgeable in knowing that NOTHING is impossible with God. Because when you think of all His power, all His goodness, all His mercy... YOU don’t have to worry about how to pay that light bill, God has it. You don’t have to worry about God saving your sister, He’s got it. You don’t have to worry about anything.
1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
HE CARES FOR YOU! If you love God and you serve God.. He sees that. Even if you don’t, He loves all His children. When we are covered in God’s love and mercy.. The power of God is within us and can drive out any evil thing that comes our way. We as Christians, we don’t have to live in a life of fear. We have a ever present mighty God who is constantly reassuring us in His word that we do not have to fear. Fear is not of GOD! Now, hold onto a chair or something because this scripture right here.. is POWERFUL!
2 Timothy 1:7 “For GOD hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” HALLELUJAH!
It’s not God’s purpose for us to walk in fear. It’s not God’s purpose for us to walk around feeling anxious or depressed or SAD! He wants us to live life serving Him, having joy, boldness, and peace. If you’re feeling a little less than lately, a little tired, anxious, crabby, upset, or anything that’s not God’s purpose.. take a step back and really think about how powerful God is. Once you think, ponder, read the word about all that God did and all He’s going to do for you.. that’s your victory. That’s how we make it through. We put our absolute trust in our powerful God, the only God.
He’s so good. The main reason I am writing this is to encourage you today. You are a child of the one true king, you are His daughter or His son. You are basically His heir, His CHILD! He loves you each and everyday and He wants you to live fearless and without doubt. Today, take out some time to thank God. Tell Him you love Him. Tell Him how thankful you are that He cares for you and protects you daily. Think about His mighty power today and how nothing is impossible with Him. When the adversary comes (because that devil is stupid and ruthless) make sure the devil knows how GREAT and MIGHTY your God is. Let your knowledge of knowing how powerful God is build your faith and strengthen you everyday. Amen.
