I found out a few weeks ago that a coworker I enjoyed working with didn’t vote in the past election. I was a shocked because we often bonded on our shared political beliefs.
he even said that if he did vote, he would have voted for Trump. I asked him why. he said he doesn’t like Harris’s personality. I asked him if he likes Trump’s personality. He said no, but Harris was endorsed by Beyoncé who is associated with Diddy. I reminded him that Trump has associations with Jeffery Epstein. he said and I quote, “yeah, but still”. and I ended the conversation by saying “to each their own”.
I don’t really like him anymore. I don’t know if that’s immature or not, but I don’t really care. I have remained friendly, of course. I would never treat someone poorly because of politics. I’m not that immature, but I do consider him to be stupid.
anyway, since then, he tries to start conversations about his disapproval of Trump’s executive orders. sometimes I respond with “yeah, that’s crazy” with no further input; other times, I just ignore him.
today on the other hand, when he was going on and on about Trump’s plan with Gaza, I reminded him that he didn’t vote. I also reminded him that a lot of TikTok liberals didn’t vote because of Harris’s support of Israel. it’s like everyone failed to realize that Trump also supports Israel. they’re remembering now, that’s for sure.
I’ve gone numb to it all. how is anyone surprised?
