Phew! I think this typeset took the most brain power because I had to translate a fic heavy with images as well as links to photos of actors and other media (a number of which have become dead in the years between) but I adore this fic since the day it was posted.

Had to track down age appropriate actor headshots (are some of them the exact ones? Uh, no, cause Internet Archive doesn't have a saved copy of the links) and ended up shoving them all into each movie section endnotes lol, and so so much QR codes+URLs.

But also I had to perform 3 exorcisms/deep cleaning on the printer cause it absolutely refused to emit any gosh darn magenta ink, so compounded frustration.

In the end I made a soft cover/paperback out of it with a naaaaarrow oxford hollow because I have a hot glue gun curse. The cardstock is a seriously pretty embedded glitter type, so shiny!

yeah, absolutely! I only actually had one restricted fic bookmarked, but I dug up another couple that I like.

Miss American Dream Since I Was 17 by dangercupcake - no pairing, Kent-centric. that poor boy gets some much-needed therapy.

1. Best book you read this year? The Bedlam Stacks by Natasha Pulley! I bought it sight unseen on the strength of my love for Pulley’s previous book, The Watchmaker of Filigree Street and loved it immediately. I tend to be very interested in characters when i read, even more than plot or style of writing, but Pulley’s writing is so delicious, the atmosphere she builds so wonderful, that every sentence felt like eating a bite of gelato. And then of course I loved the plot and characters, too.

3. Most disappointing book you read this year? Sleeping Giants by Sylvain Neuvel. My friend loved it so much that I bought it and then was stunned by how underwhelming I found it. It read as really dry and bro-y (how much detail do we really need on the giant alien robot’s breasts? I mean, really), and I finished it pretty much on rage alone.
