My partner and I are homeless, and he is currently unable to work due to disability (TBI, seizures, amnesia) leaving us relying on my survival sex work and the generosity of my community for help with daily motel needs to keep us housed and for food help since we r left without SNAP assistance. All StreetPass Mii Plaza games use the same way of lowering the quality of Mii face textures when Miis get too far from the camera. While it may be noticeable on a 3DS XL screen, usually, this isn't too noticeable of a feature. In the StreetPass Mii Plaza game Feed Mii, however, there is one part where the low quality Mii face textures are clearly visible, despite the camera being so close to the Miis.

When you cook a meal for the hero Miis that come in, a cutscene will play showing the heroes eating the food you made. During this, the camera shifts over to different viewpoints, almost all of which are incredibly close to the Miis' faces. And yet, despite the camera being so close, you can clearly see the low quality face textures being present on the Miis.
