Ah. You’ve made a fair point. I suppose it is more apt to say I am very selective about the contexts in which I am the center of attention. To oversee household staff or rally troops is an entirely different circumstance than to be placed on display primarily for appearance’s sake. Let’s agree I am not in my element there. My preference is to be relegated to the background, where I perform at my best, while someone more suited to it takes the center stage.

Right, Owain... A little intense, but he’s a nice guy. Perfect to have around when you can’t remember a word, since he knows a crazy amount of them. Something about obsessive minutia being fun for him, I guess?

If you’re not a people person, I’d suggest bringing a friend to hang out with you and him. He can be a bit much to tackle alone if you’re not the energetic type.

Although... You know, I’m curious how he and Felix would get along.

hey hubert! i'm sure you noticed while you were in askr, but some heroes wield short knives or other such weapons and throw them from a distance as a method of attack. would you ever consider learning knife throwing? (hi yes i am soooo bitter that this isn't a weapon class in fe3h bc it would be PERFECT!!!! for hubert wtf)

You presume correctly. While in Askr, Petra and Dorothea seemed to enjoy the new weapon choice to varying degrees. Dorothea was fond enough to title hers Hidden Thorn rather symbolically. I heard that Kronya took to the daggers as well, although we did not speak while in service to the Summoner. Honestly, it was refreshing not to have to endure her presence. There were also others, naturally. A hidden blade is remarkably useful, and it is quite a shame that it’s not an accepted weapon on the battlefield.

The ones I do carry have saved several covert operations, and I find it accurate enough to claim I go nowhere without them. I have what it takes to throw the knives if necessary, which isn’t often... But I wouldn’t be opposed to refining that skill for regular use if I had the cause to.

[You’re so right, anon, you are so right! You can’t give me cool knife throwing units and not expect that I want Hubert to have that chance. What I wouldn’t give to have an arcane dagger class! Hubert with a dark spell in one hand and a throwing knife in the other? Yes, that’s perfect~]

Hubert if Subaki and Shigure can become Pegasus knights then you can too. Maybe you could ask them how they did it and if they could show you how to become a Pegasus knight.

You make an excellent point. It would be beneficial to have prior instruction when introducing this concept to Fódlan. Any mistakes will prove to be a major setback to any others who may consider the class. We cannot afford the risk.

...There are some minor hurdles to overcome first, of course. In due time. Firstly, contacting Askr may invite more conflict to our realm in light of their ongoing war.

I will discuss it with Her Majesty, our professor, and Ferdinand.

Heh. You know as well as I do that summoning is a randomized process. It’s not a matter of will, unfortunately. Were that the case, I might have a proper answer to offer you.

You must also be aware that nothing would get between myself and Edelgard if force of will was the only determining factor. The knowledge that Ferdinand and Dorothea are also awaiting my presence is only further motivation still. Whichever version of myself is drawn to Askr, I assure you that he has been similarly anticipatory of the event and will appreciate having allies already present.

I'm asking you that because I am very curious about that place. So did you by any chance meet a guy named Niles while you were there?

It is a rather fantastical place, generally speaking. If I’d not been there myself, I’d be skeptical of its existence. 

As for Niles, we never spoke, but I was aware of him and observed his conduct with others—as I’m sure he observed with me as well. His loyalty to his lord is beyond reproach, although his volatile nature makes him unstable and easily provoked if one knows the subjects he is sensitive to.

That said, he has incredible talent and applies his potential well overall. His network extends rather far in his world, if word of mouth is to be believed, and he allows his determination to see him through nearly any task he commits himself to. We kept a watchful distance from one another, but I would say Niles is a victim of his realm’s society more than any other facet of his life. Leo chose wisely in selecting him as a servant to the throne, however corrupt it may be as an icon to the people itself.

Have I been there? Yes I have, in fact I'm a summoner there. I managed to summon you there but not Edelgard but I will get her so don't you worry.

Any instance in which I am apart from Edelgard for an unknown amount of time is cause for concern. I managed in my time in Askr without her, but I would never refer to it as a worry-free visit. 

My alternate self is likely more preoccupied with it than I am, however. The sooner you summon Edelgard, the better off he will be—assuming we are alike.

I think that you two are very much alike Hubert. I am hoping that you get a special alt costume because you look very handsome in anything that you wear.

That commonality is logical, I suppose.

Regardless... I’m satisfied with what I wear presently.
