how about MK teaching Beth how to play video games? :3
A week overdue don’t mind me .:*・°☆
“I - Mika, you know I can’t…” Beth said tiredly, her hands shaking. Sheshould not have stayed the night. She should have just gone home. But couldshe? A few tears rolled down her cheeks and dripped onto the gaming controllershe was holding like it was a completely foreign object.
She wiped them away with the heel of herhand. Beth always thought that having something weigh you down was just ametaphor everyone used a little too abundantly, but since a few months ago, shewas not that sure anymore. The dark duvet of worry started creeping up on her, heaving down her shoulders, slowing making its way towards her chest. And thenit stayed there. And now the invisible weight doubled in mass. Ever since Beth pulled the trigger, though notdeliberately. Smothering her, choking her. She sat up a little more upright, feeling like she couldn’t breathe and looked around the small trailer. Mika wasstanding at the kitchen counter, probably making iced tea again. Beth lookedover to her right hand side quietly. There were at least four glasses now, allfull to the brims but one. Beth has forced herself to drink that one when herhead started spinning, but after a day of nothing but pills and whiskey, herstomach could not handle the artificial tasting sweet liquid on its own. Shewatched Mika bring her a fifth glass, giving her a weak smile. How did she lookso much younger than the others? They were supposed to be identical, but they weren’t.None of them were. Shifting on the sofa, her hips cracking from having spentthe whole night in one awkward position, she let MK sit next to her.
MK wanted to play video games. She didn’texplicitly say so, but Beth could tell by the way she looked at the controller inher hands before she spoke, by the way she walked past the console.Distraction. It was all just a distraction. Feeble escape. Just like her pills.Though not like her pills, this wasn’t damaging. “Turn it on,” Beth saidquietly, crossing her legs on the sofa. “Really?” Mika asked weakly, a trace ofexcitement that Beth has never heard before in her voice. “Yeah, but beprepared, because I’m going to smash you,” Beth said, trying to be funny. Shehad no idea about the games Mika played. “Hardly,” Mika responded, downing herown glass of iced tea. Escape. It was all an escape. They all needed an escapefrom time to time.
I’m open to suggestions/prompts/headcanons any time! (Actually please do send me some, it’ll make me happy)
