an intimate moment just before leaving

You really don’t want to leave the next morning, it’s always the same train of thoughts. You reunite with your two favorite girls (you never knew what to call them, they’re not your girlfriends, but what you have feels too serious to call a situationship), spend a few nights together and then leave. Because that’s your job, at the end of the day you work for the Speedwagon Foundation, moving all over the world.
Polnareff’s back is covered in beauty marks and freckles, you love tracing them, trying to memorize the placement of the bigger ones and see if next time you can find them without watching. Avdol is built different, big arms that cradle you at night and she has a way with words that makes you melt every goddamn time. Both of them team up to make the two nights you’re with them memorable.
The room is still thick with the smell of all of you. Sweat, vanilla lotion Jean rubbed into your skin earlier and the faint spice of incense Avdol had burned before things got heated. The sheets cling to your legs, twisted from hours of tangled bodies and whispered names. Now the three of you are coming down slowly, the bed feeling both too small and too big at the same time because none of you want any distance.
Jean is glued to your side, her face pressed into the curve of your neck while her silver hair spills everywhere, soft against your chest and tickling you. She hasn’t stopped making those little whiny noises since you all finished. “Don’t leave,” she whispered again, voice muffled and shaky. Her fingers press harder into your waist, clutching it. “Please. Just one more night. Tell them you missed your train or whatever. I don’t care what excuse you use. I’ll keep you busy, I promise. You know I will.”
You can feel her heartbeat against you, fast and needy. You slide your hand through her hair, slow strokes that make her sigh. “Jean,” you whisper, but she just shakes her head and wraps her leg tighter around yours.
“No. Don’t say it like that.” She lifts her head just enough to look at you, blue eyes glassy and stubborn. “It’s not fair. We barely get you and then you’re gone again. I hate it. I hate waking up to an empty bed after this.”
Avdol sits propped against the headboard on your other side, quiet but watching everything. Her hand rests heavy on your thigh, thumb rubbing slow circles trying to memorize the feel of your skin. She looks at you with her deep eyes full of worry she tries to hide. “You do look exhausted,” she says softly. Her voice is calm, but you hear the undercurrent. “The places they send you… I wish I could go with you sometimes. Or at least know you are safe. Where are they sending you next? Do you even know yet?”
You shake your head and reach for her hand. She laces her fingers with yours immediately, squeezing once. She never has the time to tell you out loud the devotion she has for you, but you feel it in the way she looks at you, like you are something precious she can’t quite keep.
Jean sits up on her knees behind you, her hands already reaching for the brush on the nightstand. “Come on, let me fix your hair before bed,” she says, trying to sound brighter. “It always helps me feel better.” She starts working through the knots with careful strokes, every few passes her fingers linger, tracing the back of your neck or the line of your shoulder. “Remember last time? I braided it so nicely and you said it lasted the whole train ride.”
You lean back into her touch, eyes closed. The brush feels good, soothing after everything. “It did last,” you tell her. “I kept touching it on the way and thinking about you two.”
Avdol lights a cigarette and takes a slow drag before passing it to you. The smoke curls between you as you share it, fingers brushing each time. It tastes like comfort and the ache of goodbye all mixed together. “We both think about you constantly,” she says after a moment. “Jean talks about you every day. I try to stay practical, but it’s hard. This life you lead leaves us with scraps of time. I wish we could give you more than this room and these nights.”
Jean leans forward, pressing a kiss just behind your ear. “Yeah. Scraps. But they’re the best scraps.” Her voice drops, whiny again but softer. “Stay longer next time. Or take us with you on one mission. I can fight, you know that. Avdol too. We could be useful instead of just waiting here like this.”
You take another pull from the cigarette and hand it back to Avdol. “I wish it worked like that. But it’s not safe. I’d never forgive myself if something happened to either of you because of me.”
Avdol nods, but her hand tightens on your thigh. “We know. Still doesn’t make it easier.” She watches Jean brushing your hair, a small smile tugging at her lips even though her eyes stay sad. “Look at us. Clinging like this every time. You’d think we have all the time in the world.”
Jean finishes one side and starts on the other, humming a little tune under her breath. It’s the same one she always does when she is trying not to cry. “I traced your freckles again tonight,” you say quietly, glancing back at her. “I think I could do it blind next time.”
She laughs, soft and watery. “Hm, I’m adding more just to mess with you.” Her arms slip around your shoulders from behind, hugging you close. “I love you. Both of you. Even if we only get these stupid short visits. It’s enough. It has to be enough.”
The words hang there, heavy with everything unsaid. Avdol leans in and presses her forehead to yours for a moment, sharing the last of the cigarette. “We love you more than we say,” she adds. “More than we probably should, given how little time we have. But it’s true.”
You close your eyes and let them hold you, you always find yourself holding back tears. Jean’s fingers keep moving through your hair, Avdol’s hand stays warm on your skin. Morning will come soon enough, dragging you back to trains and missions and lonely hotel beds.
When you feel the tears filling your eyes, you yawn, trying to disguise your sadness with tiredness, Avdol sees it in your eyes and takes her own fingers to clean your tears. “We should sleep now,”
Jean pouts, resting her chin on your shoulder, opening her mouth and closing it when she sees your tear stained cheeks. She nods then, freeing you from her embrace and letting you lay back in the pillows. Both of them hug you in their nakedness, pressing their bodies to be as close as possible to you. Jean hides in your neck while Avdol lets you snuggle between her breasts, keeping you warm.
“Wake us up when you have to leave, okay?” She tells you before turning off the lights and kissing your lips one more time.

You step off the train three months later, the platform is too noisy and your bag too heavy. The journey was long, as always, but the second you spot them waiting near the exit, your chest loosens a little. Jean is practically bouncing on her toes while Avdol stands beside her with a soft look in her eyes.
Jean spots you first and lets out a happy little sound, rushing forward to crash into your arms. “You’re here, finally!” she says, voice muffled against your jacket. She squeezes you tight, too tight and you try not to wince. Her hands roam your back like she needs to check you are solid and real. “I missed you so much it hurt.”
“I missed you too, baby,” you breathe out, trying to not pay attention to all the pain in your body.
Avdol comes up as she wraps you in a big hug, even lifting you from the ground a little. “Welcome back, dear,” she whispers near your ear. “Everything is ready back home, we kept your favorite tea stocked.” She pulls back enough to kiss your forehead and then your lips, tasting you like it’s the first time.
You find it sweet how they call it your home too even if you don’t have anything yours there. All your belongings are always traveling with you, the only thing in that apartment that’s yours is them.
The walk to the place is full of overlapping voices and stolen touches. Jean holds your hand the whole way, swinging it a little. “We tried that new recipe you mentioned last time. The croissants are actually good. Avdol burned the first batch she attempted though.” Avdol chuckles low and bumps her shoulder against yours. “Only because someone kept distracting me.”
Inside the apartment the door clicks shut and it feels like the rest of the world drops away. Jean is on you again immediately, pushing you gently against the wall for a proper kiss. It starts soft, but deepens fast. Her mouth is warm and eager, hands pressing your hips. Avdol joins after a moment, turning your face to her so she can kiss you too.
You get lost in their touches, forgetting about everything else.
Jean tugs you toward the bedroom, Avdol following with a hand at the small of your back. “C’mon. We have two whole nights before anything else matters. I want to feel you.”
Clothes start coming off, Jean peels off her own top first, then reaches for yours. Avdol’s hands are already working on your belt, whispering how beautiful you look and how much they both need this.
But when Jean tugs your shirt up and over your head, you freeze. Your arms come down quickly, crossing over your chest on instinct. “Wait. No,” you say, voice distant even to your own ears. You step back a little, pulling the shirt back down fast. You panic at that moment, scared that they might have seen something.
Avdol stops too, eyes narrowing as she studies you closer. “Show us,” she says quietly. It’s not a demand, but you know that tone. You hesitate, then lift the hem of your shirt just enough. The bruises are ugly, a half-healed gash along your side still taped, smaller cuts and marks scattered over your torso and arms. Nothing life-threatening, but enough to tell the story of the last mission.
Jean’s breath catches. “Oh… oh no.” She reaches out but stops short, fingers trembling. “What happened? Why didn’t you say anything at the station?” Her eyes fill up fast and she presses closer anyway. “We were all over you. I’m so sorry.”
Avdol’s face tightens, she sits on the edge of the bed and pulls you down between them carefully, one hand resting on your knee.
“You should have told us right away. We would have kept it soft.” Her thumb strokes slow circles, careful to avoid the worst spots. “Does it still hurt? Be honest.”
You feel bad, really bad, because you can see how much they wanted this. The way Jean had been buzzing with energy, how Avdol’s touches had grown hungry. They had been waiting for you, building up these nights in their heads and now here you are pulling away.
“I’m sorry,” you mutter, looking down at your calloused hands. “I know you both wanted to… you know. Catch up properly. I wanted it too, but my body just… not tonight. Maybe not for a couple days. I didn’t want to ruin the reunion.”
Jean makes a sad noise and curls into your side anyway, careful this time, her head on your shoulder. “You didn’t ruin anything. You’re here, that’s what matters. I just hate seeing you like this. It makes me want to fight whoever did it.” Her fingers trace lightly around a bruise, not touching it. “Stay right here. We can just hold you. Whatever you need.”
Avdol nods and shifts closer on your other side, her arm sliding around your shoulders without pressing on the sore spots. “Jean is right. There is no rush. We have time this visit.” She kisses the top of your head, then rests her cheek against it. “Tell us what happened, if you can. Either way, we are not going anywhere. You don’t have to be strong for us right now.”
You let out a shaky breath and lean into them, the warmth of their bodies soothing even through the ache. You three end up cuddling in bed together. Jean starts humming the same little tune as she runs her fingers through your hair, untangling it gently.
The devotion is still there, wrapping around you tighter because of the hurt. It’s sad in its own way, knowing they want more but choosing to give you this instead. You talk a little, sharing pieces of the mission and they listen without pushing. Kisses land soft on your temples and hands, full of love and the relief of being together again.
The room grows quieter as night settles in. Jean stays clingy, pressed close but mindful, while Avdol keeps playing with your hands and kissing your knuckles, whispering words about how they will take care of you these next few days. It’s not the reunion any of you pictured, but it’s them and it’s real.
a/n: i can't explain it but there's something so raw and pure about them with this reader that i can't really sit myself to write smut. of course i can picture them three fucking, but their bond goes so much deeper than that it's just so ugh. i can only write beautiful things like this

You find yourself stepping off the train again, your heart racing with exhaustion and excitement. The platform is crowded but your eyes scan for them immediately, silver hair and dark curly hair. But you only see Avdol standing near the exit, watching and waving at you with a small smile
Your bag feels heavier as you walk to her. She opens her arms and you step right into them, wrapping yourself around her in a tight hug.
“Hi, dear,” she says, one of her hands cradling your head and the other taking the bag off your shoulder.
You kiss her deeply, pouring all the missing into it, tasting the relief on her lips. You sigh in her lips, melting a little in her arms and greeting her without breaking the kiss. For a moment it feels right. But then you pull back and look around, eyes searching the crowd again.
“Where is Jean?” The words come out quieter than you mean.
Your hands stay on her arms as you glance past her shoulder, heart starting to beat faster. You’re used to hearing her before you see her, her whiny voice calling your name across the platform, but this time there’s nothing.
Avdol’s expression shifts, but you don’t give her time to speak. Terror floods you fast and sharp, your fingers dig into her arms, gripping tight as tears fill your eyes almost instantly.
“Where is she?” Your voice cracks, rising with panic. “Avdol, please. Tell me she is okay. Did something happen? Is she hurt? Please just tell me she is alive.”
Tears spill over as you hold onto her, your mind racing with horrible images: missions gone wrong, stands too strong… You can barely breathe.
Avdol’s hands come up to cup your face immediately, thumbs brushing away the tears as she pulls you closer. Her touch is steady even though you can see the worry in her eyes too.
“She’s fine,” she says firmly, trying to cut through your panic. “Breathe, love. Jean is okay, I promise. She had to go on a mission by herself. Nothing serious or dangerous. She left two days ago and she will be back in a week at most. She didn’t want to go without seeing you but they insisted it was time sensitive.”
You stare at her, still gripping her arms, tears still falling but slower now as the words sink in. The terror eases just a little, but the fear leaves you shaky. “Are you sure? Is she really alright? No one is hiding anything from me?”
Avdol nods and pulls you into another tight hug, one hand stroking your hair while the other rubs your back. “I’m sure. She made me promise to tell you the second you arrived. She was so upset she had to leave before you got here. She kept whining about it the whole morning she left. Said she would make it up to you with extra clinging and kisses when she gets back.”
You let out a shaky breath and bury your face in her neck, arms wrapping around her tighter. The relief mixes with leftover terror, making your knees feel weak. “I thought the worst. My mind went straight to losing her. I cannot do that. I love you both too much.”
Avdol holds you close, pressing soft kisses to your temple and cheek. “I know. I’m sorry I scared you even for a second. I should have messaged you before you arrived but I wanted to tell you in person. She’ll be back soon and she’ll probably tackle you the second she sees you.”
You stay in her arms for a long moment on the platform, letting her steady presence calm the racing of your heart.
“C’mon,” she says gently, keeping her arm around your shoulders. “Let us go home. I’ll make you something warm and we can talk about her until you feel better. She left one of her shirts if you want to wear it tonight.”
You nod and lean into her side as you walk, still shaky but no longer terrified. The love you have for them feels bigger than ever in moments like this. Even when fear tries to swallow you whole, their devotion pulls you back. Jean is safe. Avdol is here. And soon all three of you will be together again.
She makes you tea without asking, knowing exactly how you like it and leads you to the bedroom. You both change into something light. You pull on Jean’s t-shirt and one of your panties, while Avdol stays in her bra and panties, the sight of her strong body making you flush.
She sits on the bed first and pulls you into her lap, facing her so your legs straddle her thighs. You settle there with the warm mug of tea between you, taking small sips while her big hands rest on your hips, thumbs stroking slow circles over your skin.
“You look very beautiful right now,” Avdol whispers, her dark eyes trace over you, taking in the way the t-shirt hangs off one shoulder, the soft curve of your thighs against hers.
You feel the heat rise in your cheeks as you take another sip of tea, calmer now but very aware of how little you are both wearing. Her skin is warm against yours, her bra barely containing her chest as she breathes. You set the mug on the nightstand and lean in closer, arms wrapping around her neck. “I feel better with you holding me like this. I was so scared at the station.”
Avdol’s hands slide up your back under the t-shirt, palms warm and possessive as she pulls you flush against her. “I know. I could see it in your eyes.”
She leans in and kisses you slowly, deep and unhurried, she has all the time in the world now that you are here. Her tongue brushes yours and you melt into it, hips shifting slightly in her lap.
When she pulls back her eyes are darker, heated. “You feel so good like this. I love seeing you comfortable in our home.” One hand slips lower, cupping your ass and squeezing gently, pulling you closer so you can feel the heat between you. “I missed this. Missed touching you without worrying about how long until you leave again.”
You let out a soft sound and rock against her, the thin fabric between you doing little to hide how much you want her.
“I missed you too.” You kiss her again, hungrier this time, hands roaming over her shoulders and down to the clasp of her bra. You don’t take it off yet, just tease the edges while you grind slowly in her lap.
You lean in closer, lips brushing her jaw as you start to deliberately grind against her thigh.
“Tell me something,” you whisper, voice already breathy as you roll your hips again. “When I am away… do you and Jean get intimate? Do you touch each other thinking about me?”
Avdol’s breath catches, her hands tightening on your hips. “Yes, sometimes. Not every time you are gone, but when the bed feels too empty.”
You smile softly and grind a little harder against her thigh, feeling the warmth of her skin through the thin fabric. “Tell me everything. I want to know.”
Avdol groans quietly, one hand sliding up your back under the t-shirt while the other guides your hips.
“Jean gets clingy and whiny when it is just us. She’ll crawl into my lap like you are right now, kissing me and saying how much she misses you. How she needs something to feel close to you. We end up in bed most times, touching each other.”
You moan softly and press closer, rolling your hips so your core rubs against her thigh with more pressure. The friction feels too good, your wetness spreading through your panties. “Keep going. What does she do? What do you do to her?”
“She likes when I’m on top,” Avdol continues, voice getting lower as she watches your face. Her hands squeeze your ass, helping you grind harder. “She spreads her legs for me and whines your name when I finger her. Says things like ‘she would love seeing us like this’ while I curl my fingers just right. I tell her how much I miss your mouth, how pretty you look when you cum for us. We talk about you the whole time. It makes it feel less empty.”
You let out a shaky breath and kiss her while you keep grinding on her thigh. The image of them together, thinking about you, makes you wetter. “Does she ride you too?”
She kisses you back hungrily before pulling away just enough to speak. “Somes she rides my thigh just like you’re doing right now. Sometimes we scissor. But you know how Jean gets tired on top.”
You whine a laugh, smiling as your hips stutter the rhythm. “Yeah, she does. I touch myself thinking about you two too.”
Avdol’s hands roam higher, cupping your breasts through the thin t-shirt, thumbs brushing over your nipples. “Really?” she says, with a tiny smirk. “You should take some cute pictures of you playing with yourself for us.”
That makes you moan, the idea of taking photographs of yourself just for them to have suddenly turned you on so much. “Mm, yes. I can do that. You should do that too.”
You keep moving on Avdol’s thigh, the slow grind turning faster and needier as her words sink into you. The heat between your legs is building fast, the thin fabric of your panties soaked as you rock against her. Your breath comes in short little gasps, arms wrapped tight around her neck while you chase the feeling.
“Keep talking,” you whine softly. “Please. Tell me more about how you fuck her. I need it. I need to feel close to both of you right now.”
Avdol groans, her hands gripping your hips tighter to help guide your movements.
“You are so desperate tonight,” she whispers, kissing along your jaw. “Jean gets like this too when it is just us. I hold her down and fuck her with my fingers until she is crying your name.”
You let out a high, needy sound and ride her faster, grinding hard against her thigh. The friction is perfect and overwhelming, making your head spin.
“F-fuck yes. I miss that. I miss being between you two. I get so lonely out there thinking about you touching each other.” Your voice turns whiny, words spilling out raw and desperate. “I touch myself in hotel rooms imagining you holding her down, imagining her moaning for both of us. I-I want to be good for you.”
Tears prick at the corners of your eyes, spilling over as the emotional vulnerability hits you all at once. The scare at the station, the love you have for them, the ache of always leaving. It all mixes with the heat until you are crying softly while you ride her, hips moving faster and sloppier.
Avdol notices immediately, one hand coming up to cup your face while the other keeps guiding your hips. “Shh, love. I have you. You are doing so good for me.” She kisses your tears away, voice low and full of devotion. “Our pretty girl, what would we do without you.”
You whimper loudly, tears falling faster as you ride her thigh even harder, chasing that edge. “I lo-love you both so much. It hurts sometimes. I just want to stay here and let you use me and hold me and never leave again. Fuuuck, I’m so close. A-Avdol, I’m so so close.”
Avdol’s grip tightens, helping you move faster, her own breathing ragged now. “Then cum for me. You are ours. Our beautiful, emotional, desperate girl. Jean will be so happy when she hears how good you were for me while she was gone.”
The words push you over the edge. You cry out, whiny and babbly, hips stuttering as the orgasm crashes through you. “Avdol… fuck, I love you. I love her. I’m yours, I’m your, I’m-ah!” Tears keep spilling as you tremble in her lap, grinding through the waves until you are boneless and shaking against her.
She holds you close through it, big arms wrapped around you, kissing your wet cheeks and murmuring soft praises. “So good. So pretty when you fall apart like this. We love you too. So much. Jean will be back soon and we’ll all be together again.”
You stay in her lap afterward, face buried in her neck, still sniffling softly as the tears slow. The vulnerability feels raw and exposed but safe with her. Avdol strokes your back and holds you tight, the two of you breathing together in the quiet room.
You wake up on the day you are supposed to leave and the apartment feels too quiet. Jean still isn’t back. The mission that was supposed to be short has stretched longer, and the Foundation message on your phone confirms you cannot wait any longer. Your bag is already packed by the door. The sight of it makes something inside you snap.
You sit on the edge of the bed in just Jean’s t-shirt and panties, staring at the empty spot where Jean should be, the tears come fast. Full and messy, ugly sobs that shake your whole body as you press your face into your hands. Anger mixes in with the sadness, hot and sharp, making your voice break when you finally speak.
“Why does this keep happening?” you cry, the words coming out wet and furious. “Every single time I think we’ll have more, something pulls us apart. Jean is not even here and I have to leave again. I hate this. I hate the Foundation. I hate feeling like I’m always saying goodbye to half of my heart.”
Avdol is right there beside you in an instant, pulling you into her lap like she did when you first arrived. Your tears soak her skin, messy and uncontrollable, you don’t even try to stop them. You are angry and hurt and so incredibly tired of it all.
“I just wanted one more day with both of you,” you sob, voice cracking. “I wanted to see her smile and hear her whine about me leaving and hold her one last time. Now I have to go and she’s not even here. What if something happens to her while I am gone? What if I lose her and the last memory I have is not even seeing her?”
Avdol holds you closer, one hand stroking your hair while the other rubs your back in the steady circles she always uses when you fall apart.
“I know, dear,” she says, voice rough with her own worry. “I hate it too. She was supposed to be back yesterday. I can see how much it’s hurting you. You’re allowed to be angry. You’re allowed to cry like this. Let it out, love. I’m right here.”
You cry harder, the sobs turning messy and loud, snot and tears mixing as you cling to her. “It’s not fair. I love you both so much and it feels like the world keeps punishing us for it. I’m so angry at the Foundation for taking me away again. Angry at Jean for not being here even though I know it’s not her fault. Angry at myself for not being able to stay.” Your hands fist in her bra strap. “I don’t want to leave like this ever again.”
Avdol kisses the top of your head, then your wet cheeks, tasting the salt of your tears. “She will be so upset when she finds out she missed you.”
You stay in her lap for a long time, crying until your throat hurts and your eyes feel swollen. The anger simmers down into aching sadness that always lives under everything good you have with them. Avdol holds you through all of it, rocking you gently, murmuring soft words about how much they both need you, how they will wait, how this is not the end.
When the tears finally slow you pull back just enough to look at her. “I love you so fucking much, Avdol. Tell Jean I love her too. Tell her I’m sorry I could not wait. That I cried because I missed her so much.”
Avdol nods and wipes your face gently with her thumb. “I’ll tell her everything, my love.”
You cling to her a little longer, pressing messy kisses to her lips and neck, the sadness making everything feel raw and desperate. The bag is waiting. But for these last few minutes you let yourself be held, let yourself cry one more time in her arms.
