You find yourself stepping off the train again, your heart racing with exhaustion and excitement. The platform is crowded but your eyes scan for them immediately, silver hair and dark curly hair. But you only see Avdol standing near the exit, watching and waving at you with a small smile

Your bag feels heavier as you walk to her. She opens her arms and you step right into them, wrapping yourself around her in a tight hug. 

“Hi, dear,” she says, one of her hands cradling your head and the other taking the bag off your shoulder.

You kiss her deeply, pouring all the missing into it, tasting the relief on her lips. You sigh in her lips, melting a little in her arms and greeting her without breaking the kiss. For a moment it feels right. But then you pull back and look around, eyes searching the crowd again.

“Where is Jean?” The words come out quieter than you mean. 

Your hands stay on her arms as you glance past her shoulder, heart starting to beat faster. You’re used to hearing her before you see her, her whiny voice calling your name across the platform, but this time there’s nothing.

Avdol’s expression shifts, but you don’t give her time to speak. Terror floods you fast and sharp, your fingers dig into her arms, gripping tight as tears fill your eyes almost instantly.

“Where is she?” Your voice cracks, rising with panic. “Avdol, please. Tell me she is okay. Did something happen? Is she hurt? Please just tell me she is alive.”

Tears spill over as you hold onto her, your mind racing with horrible images: missions gone wrong, stands too strong… You can barely breathe.

Avdol’s hands come up to cup your face immediately, thumbs brushing away the tears as she pulls you closer. Her touch is steady even though you can see the worry in her eyes too. 

“She’s fine,” she says firmly, trying to cut through your panic. “Breathe, love. Jean is okay, I promise. She had to go on a mission by herself. Nothing serious or dangerous. She left two days ago and she will be back in a week at most. She didn’t want to go without seeing you but they insisted it was time sensitive.”

You stare at her, still gripping her arms, tears still falling but slower now as the words sink in. The terror eases just a little, but the fear leaves you shaky. “Are you sure? Is she really alright? No one is hiding anything from me?”

Avdol nods and pulls you into another tight hug, one hand stroking your hair while the other rubs your back. “I’m sure. She made me promise to tell you the second you arrived. She was so upset she had to leave before you got here. She kept whining about it the whole morning she left. Said she would make it up to you with extra clinging and kisses when she gets back.”

You let out a shaky breath and bury your face in her neck, arms wrapping around her tighter. The relief mixes with leftover terror, making your knees feel weak. “I thought the worst. My mind went straight to losing her. I cannot do that. I love you both too much.”

Avdol holds you close, pressing soft kisses to your temple and cheek. “I know. I’m sorry I scared you even for a second. I should have messaged you before you arrived but I wanted to tell you in person. She’ll be back soon and she’ll probably tackle you the second she sees you.”

You stay in her arms for a long moment on the platform, letting her steady presence calm the racing of your heart. 

“C’mon,” she says gently, keeping her arm around your shoulders. “Let us go home. I’ll make you something warm and we can talk about her until you feel better. She left one of her shirts if you want to wear it tonight.”

You nod and lean into her side as you walk, still shaky but no longer terrified. The love you have for them feels bigger than ever in moments like this. Even when fear tries to swallow you whole, their devotion pulls you back. Jean is safe. Avdol is here. And soon all three of you will be together again.

She makes you tea without asking, knowing exactly how you like it and leads you to the bedroom. You both change into something light. You pull on Jean’s t-shirt and one of your panties, while Avdol stays in her bra and panties, the sight of her strong body making you flush.

She sits on the bed first and pulls you into her lap, facing her so your legs straddle her thighs. You settle there with the warm mug of tea between you, taking small sips while her big hands rest on your hips, thumbs stroking slow circles over your skin.

She leans in and kisses you slowly, deep and unhurried, she has all the time in the world now that you are here. Her tongue brushes yours and you melt into it, hips shifting slightly in her lap.

When she pulls back her eyes are darker, heated. “You feel so good like this. I love seeing you comfortable in our home.” One hand slips lower, cupping your ass and squeezing gently, pulling you closer so you can feel the heat between you. “I missed this. Missed touching you without worrying about how long until you leave again.”

You let out a soft sound and rock against her, the thin fabric between you doing little to hide how much you want her. 

“I missed you too.” You kiss her again, hungrier this time, hands roaming over her shoulders and down to the clasp of her bra. You don’t take it off yet, just tease the edges while you grind slowly in her lap.

You lean in closer, lips brushing her jaw as you start to deliberately grind against her thigh.

“Tell me something,” you whisper, voice already breathy as you roll your hips again. “When I am away… do you and Jean get intimate? Do you touch each other thinking about me?”

Avdol’s breath catches, her hands tightening on your hips. “Yes, sometimes. Not every time you are gone, but when the bed feels too empty.”

You smile softly and grind a little harder against her thigh, feeling the warmth of her skin through the thin fabric. “Tell me everything. I want to know.”

Avdol groans quietly, one hand sliding up your back under the t-shirt while the other guides your hips. 

“Jean gets clingy and whiny when it is just us. She’ll crawl into my lap like you are right now, kissing me and saying how much she misses you. How she needs something to feel close to you. We end up in bed most times, touching each other.”

You moan softly and press closer, rolling your hips so your core rubs against her thigh with more pressure. The friction feels too good, your wetness spreading through your panties. “Keep going. What does she do? What do you do to her?”

“I just wanted one more day with both of you,” you sob, voice cracking. “I wanted to see her smile and hear her whine about me leaving and hold her one last time. Now I have to go and she’s not even here. What if something happens to her while I am gone? What if I lose her and the last memory I have is not even seeing her?”

Avdol holds you closer, one hand stroking your hair while the other rubs your back in the steady circles she always uses when you fall apart. 

“I know, dear,” she says, voice rough with her own worry. “I hate it too. She was supposed to be back yesterday. I can see how much it’s hurting you. You’re allowed to be angry. You’re allowed to cry like this. Let it out, love. I’m right here.”

You cry harder, the sobs turning messy and loud, snot and tears mixing as you cling to her. “It’s not fair. I love you both so much and it feels like the world keeps punishing us for it. I’m so angry at the Foundation for taking me away again. Angry at Jean for not being here even though I know it’s not her fault. Angry at myself for not being able to stay.” Your hands fist in her bra strap. “I don’t want to leave like this ever again.”

Avdol kisses the top of your head, then your wet cheeks, tasting the salt of your tears. “She will be so upset when she finds out she missed you.”

You stay in her lap for a long time, crying until your throat hurts and your eyes feel swollen. The anger simmers down into aching sadness that always lives under everything good you have with them. Avdol holds you through all of it, rocking you gently, murmuring soft words about how much they both need you, how they will wait, how this is not the end.

When the tears finally slow you pull back just enough to look at her. “I love you so fucking much, Avdol. Tell Jean I love her too. Tell her I’m sorry I could not wait. That I cried because I missed her so much.”

Avdol nods and wipes your face gently with her thumb. “I’ll tell her everything, my love.”

You cling to her a little longer, pressing messy kisses to her lips and neck, the sadness making everything feel raw and desperate. The bag is waiting. But for these last few minutes you let yourself be held, let yourself cry one more time in her arms.

You would be an Urgent Care Nurse who would help room Avdol one fateful afternoon in New York City. His right hand was bleeding and it scared the front office badly. He tried to laugh off his injury, but you weren't having it.

"Goodness, you know we have to report the dog who bit you, right?" you frown as you help treat his bleeding hand.

"Oh, please, Iggy didn't mean to! He was just, well, being Iggy, haha!" Avdol chuckled. Giving another pout, you dabbed more alcohol on the wound. The fortune teller didn't once flinch at the stinging sensation.

"Well, if you ask me, dogs who bite humans are jerks."

"Oh, Iggy's still a young dog with a lot to learn. He's just hard to train, that's all."

You look carefully at the man as he continues to smile. "You know, you're awfully patient. You're too good for that dog."

"That's awfully kind of you to say, ma'am," Avdol replied sweetly. "But that dog needs me. It turns out gum is the best training method for him."

"Gum?" You were greatly puzzled by that statement. But you had to admit, you were impressed how calm he remained in this situation.

The man nodded. "He has a penchant for coffee-flavored gum, actually. After he bit me, of course I told him that was bad. But right after, I got him to sit and stay, then gave two pieces of gum as a reward. This allowed my friend Joseph to take me here."

You sighed. "Maybe you need a professional dog trainer to knock some sense into that mutt."

"Aw, please, ma'am, don't say such harsh things about Iggy. I promise I'll have him trained to be an obedient dog in no time. After all, I'm sure I'm the only one who can do it."

You gave him a look and fished out more first aid supplies. "I hope the doctor agrees with me on this one."

Flashing a fond smile, Avdol added, "I must say I'm flattered you seem to care about my well-being so much. I'm lucky to have you as my nurse."

Your face instantly felt hot. "That's really sweet. Um, well, you've been a very pleasant patient. I just hope your wounds heal soon." He really was too good for that mangy dog.

The doctor knocked at the door, and you explained the situation. Nodding, the physician asked you to room the next patient. Avdol sighed as he watched you leave, worried he may never see you again.

He decided then he should show you his healed skin as soon as he can. After all, he recalled his tarot card reading earlier that morning.

- He’s already complaining about his old bones as soon as you sit down. 

- Because he is naturally so loud, nearly the whole ride you just hear him talking in your ear, which sounds less like his inside voice and more like his outside voice. 

- He doesn't even know where to put his arms or anything, so most of the ride they’re just resting in this awkward position because he literally doesn't even know where else to put them. 

- Surprisingly, he doesn't even seem all that phased by the situation; he’s kind of just like, “Oh my god, okay," and then he just sits down. 

- He is also quite comfortable with you on his lap, despite the crammed car. 

Avdol⸝⸝

- Avdol is more than a gentleman, so when they mention that the car seems a bit too small and you'll have to sit on his lap, he just accepts it. 

- The whole ride he's asking you if you're okay or if you're uncomfortable with him resting his hands on your waist, since there doesn't seem to be much space in the car, considering that there are five buff men packed into one tiny car, like sardines in a can. 

- We all know that Joseph's driving is almost enough to kill everyone in the car, so he just tries his best to keep you from sliding around. 

- He keeps it more calm and composed despite the fact that you two are so close. 

- He's lowkey just chilling, so between the two of you, the vibe is quite peaceful and calm.

- He also talks quietly enough so that he's not too loud in your ear, unlike Joseph.

- In response to this whole ordeal, he just pulls his hat lower against his face and tries not to think about the fact that he’ll have a whole person in his lap for the whole ride. 

- He just tends to look out the window the whole ride, but to be fair, he can't really look forward since you're in his lap.

- He keeps his hand on you, protecting you from moving around despite the bumpy roads, and he keeps it there the whole time. He doesn't move his hand or anything; it's just there, firm and tight against your hip. 

- He doesn't even move the whole ride; he's as stiff as a board. You're not sure if it's because he's scared to move even an inch or just because he wants to make a better surface for you to sit on. 

- He does even mind the situation all that much. He doesn't complain or huff and puff; he just accepts that this is how it's gonna be for a while, but of course he does say his famous “good grief” line, but it's not because he's annoyed, but because that's just what he says to everything. 

Kakyoin ⸝⸝

- He just offers himself to be sat on because he's just a gentleman like that. 

- The whole ride you can just feel his muscles tense with every bump in the road as he tries his best to stop you from going flying across the car, knowing how the old man drives. 

- His grip is a lot more gentle, as he tries to keep you steady, making sure that you feel comfortable in the position you're sitting in. 

- To ease the awkwardness of the ride, he’ll pull out something to keep the both of you entertained as he rests his chin against your shoulder. 

- He's honestly flustered the whole time, but he tries his best to hide just how flustered he is. 

Polnareff⸝⸝

- Somehow he treats this opportunity as an honor even if it is just a car ride for at least an hour. 

- He's constantly moving and shifting around the whole time, whether it's because he's uncomfortable with the way he's sitting or because he just can't help it. 

- He talks your ear off the whole time. And I mean the whole time. He's just yapping about different topics or just a recap on the journey that you've done so far. 

- He does make sure that he keeps you steady against the bumps and turns of the roads, his hands pressed gently against your waist. 

- He's really just full-on flirting, resting his chin on your shoulder to “get a better look at the outside," or he’ll just make smug remarks that show just how much he's enjoying his little incident, and deep down he just hopes it'll happen again.

- To start, Avdol has never been a parent figure, but with how gentle and naturally caring he is, he doesn't even notice that he's doing it.

- Before you even tell him, he can already tell there's something off. The way you speak about home, like it's a place that you don't want to go back to.

- When you first tell him, he immediately goes to care for you. If you need anything you need, you come to him. He'll even do things for you without even asking. Shoes untied? He's already on the move making sure you don't trip.

- He's always watching to make sure you don't get hurt or you don't do something you may regret because he only wants good things for you.

- He gives a lot of those parent speeches about the most basic things, like not getting hurt and stopping relying on just yourself because he's there with you and you don't have to struggle alone anymore.
