#fever trope

I'm thinking about fevers! Please share with me anything you like about fevers! Tropes, stories, things you like about them? I don't care I just need the content!!

(Actually I'd just be interested in whatever you guys got to say about sickfic in general lol. What's got you guys thinking things today?)

you know what kills me? when the whumpee, clearly delirious with fever just keeps blurting out things about their past trauma accidentally, slurring their words but almost sounding detached as if what happened to them wasn't completely horrifying and of course the caregiver is clearly shocked and taken aback, but the whumpee just keeps going 

bonus points: they keep saying after each revelation but its okay, its okay, i deserved it, its okay

bonus bonus points: they become progressively more delirious and start hallucinating that the whumper is in the room with them!
