Liv, I just re-read far from the tree for the fourth or so time and it just gets better each read and I needed to tell someone. I’m just in awe of the concept, the characterizations, the moments where I have to put my phone down and take a breath because the feelings of each character are so palpable. In AWE. Bless my terrible memory because I can read this again and again and it’s beautiful every time.

Oh, I’m so touched that you chose me to share this with 🥹 as you know I worship FFTT with all my heart, it’s my favourite fic from recent years and it left such a powerful and lasting impression on me. I envy you for being able to revisit it so many times, I can’t read it without being in the right mental space or I’m useless for the rest of the day lol the fic hangover is so real! I feel you re: that profound feeling of awe that never fades no matter how many times you read it, this fic feels just as magical, effective and emotionally satisfying. I think this happens with every aideomai fic tbh. I wish we could re-create the experiences of reading those works for the very first time once more!

FACING FACTS, TAKE TWO || BUDDIE

After making sure Christopher was still asleep, and happier than ever for having bought him a white noise machine recently, Eddie stepped into the shower and stood right under the waterpsray, the rough droplets hitting him right on the face, which was his own way of self slapping for being so stupid. Stupid into thinking that things would turn out fine between him and Buck. Just a slip, and now everything they had hung on a very thin line, and for what? A dumb assumption. Now he had to think of a way to try his best not to make things too awkward when they saw each other again at the station the following day.

As of right now, transfering sounded like a good idea.

He was still dwelling on that as he laid on the bed a short while after, dressed in dark bluwe sweats and white tank, his eyes staring blankly at the ceiling. He was so wrapped up in thinking that, he didn’t hear the sound of car pulling in his driveway, but the sound of his phone buzzing, that he did hear. He sat back up and checked it quickly, his jaw dropping to the floor when he saw it was a message, several messages actually, from Buck. For about two seconds he was torn on whether going to the door or not, but might as well get things cleared that night than on an awkward encounter at the station. He headed to the door and turned the light in the living room before he unlocked the door and opened it.

“You’re back...”

I just realised I’ve forgotten the word tunnel for 20k words of my novel. Hell is underground and MADE OF TUNNELS, yet I keep calling them corridors and hallways. That’s a problem for future me when I edit though.
