Our theme for October 2022 is:
The Dark
(December will be “the light,” so think like… opposites)
Gimme villains, creatures of darkness, other… dark things… ~brain fart~
I’ll even take Halloween-themed Fablehaven content for funzies!
Basic reminders: all manner of fan-made content is eligible for reblog. (Art, fics, metas, hc’s, aesthetics, etc.) Keep it PG/SFW. We reserve the right to refrain from reblogging materials which we feel are not appropriate for young-ish children. Our tag is #fhfanfest22. I check that one and the #Fablehaven tag for content, but if I miss your post, feel free to let me know!
As always, questions or concerns or whatnot are welcome.
Go forth and create!
Puzzles
Ruth pulls out a 1,000+ piece puzzle every so often and dumps the pieces onto the living room coffee table. She likes to see her family come together for things like this.
Dale and Kendra are the type to sift through all of the pieces and separate the edge pieces from the rest.
Bracken takes the middle pieces and sorts them out by color/section. (“This is a sky piece”, “these are flowers”, etc.)
Vanessa stops by on occasion to help separate out the middle pieces. She and Bracken don’t talk to each other during this process; they simply coexist. (Except for when one corrects the other. “That’s part of the house, not the trees.”)
Warren is the guy who walks over, picks up a random piece, considers the puzzle for a moment, then slams the random piece into place where it belongs and walks away. (“There, I helped.”) He does this several times during the construction of the overall puzzle.
Seth doesn’t generally have patience for puzzles, but he likes to try. For 5 minutes. And then he gets up and does something else.
Tanu pulls people away from the puzzle when they get too frustrated, takes their place for a while, then lets them get back to work after they’ve had a break.
Whoever is working on the puzzle at the time will stand up about every 15 mins or so and change seats with each other. They’ve all found that this helps them all solve the puzzle more quickly.
Stan shakes his head and grumbles that nobody is helping him with chores because of “that damn puzzle.”
Rare, unseen photo of Kendra and Seth listening to the rocking horse trigger all the traps:

This month, we celebrate
~The Lovers~
AKA, show off your favorite ship(s)!
Also, because I missed June, we shall combine with
~The Enemies~
AKA, gimme some materials about your favorite enemy dynamic!
Keep it all SFW, no incest, etc. We reserve the right to avoid reblogging materials which we consider unsafe for children.
