Artemis Fowl fandom help me out
ok so we know Artemis is an INTJ which is all well and good
but WHAT IS HIS ENNEAGRAM TYPE
sure he fits some of the stereotypes of a type 5 but I’m just...... not convinced. greed is definitely a sin of his but I don’t think he stockpiles knowledge, I don’t think he fears personal incompetence at his core, and I don’t think he gets very wrapped up in theoretical knowledge just for the sake of knowledge? like even when he learns everything he can about fairies, it’s not for curiosity’s sake, it’s for the very practical use of using the fairy gold to find his father. also, with his focus on business, wealth, status, he just seems much too concretely involved in the world and participatory/calling the shots, rather than seeing himself as an objective observer of the world.
I’ll be honest I think he might be a 6w5 (more on the Counterphobic side) or an 8 (not sure on the wing). Or maybe even a 3, although I feel like there’s a shakier case for that one. I feel like, with his father’s kidnapping and his unstable childhood, and feeling like HE has to find his father and shoulder the burden of his entire family, their business, etc.—there’s a case to be made for artemis’s biggest concerns and motivators being regaining and maintaining security or a fear of being violated/harmed by others (and therefore a need to always be planning for danger, playing his cards right, focusing on practicality and self-interest). And although he is very individualistic like an 8, I think he does rely a lot on his friends (especially Butler) as well as the traditions/ideals of his family to keep him safe and give him meaning, especially as he becomes healthier in the later books and ultimately becomes very courageous (like a 6). Stressing to 3 or 5 and then growing to 9 or 2 just makes a LOT more sense when I look at his character. I feel like he’s most likely a Head Center type, but despite his analytical approach to life I think he DOES make a lot of decisions from his heart/instincts when push comes to shove, so I don’t think the other types are out of the question.
please comment and/or PM and tell me what you think his type is bc not being able to figure it out is driving me CRAZY. none of them are quite clicking for me! also if you don’t know what the enneagram is pls go look it up bc it’s super cool in its own right!
