"Foreign Homes" - Field Assembly
Thanks to Jim Di Gioia for writing about the new Field Assembly on his Quick Before It Melts website today.
Distant Fires on CHRW 94.9 FM (July 29th)
Despite 7+ years of on-air experience at another radio station and at least one month at CHRW, I still don't feel comfortable in the on-air studio. The placement of all the studio equipment is essentially in the same location (with the exception of their respective channels on the console) so this sensation of confusion seems particularly unwarranted. Regardless, it feels as if I've been misspeaking on-air more than usual and hopefully I'll figure out a way to correct that in the coming weeks.
Anyhow, I played the following songs and would recommend most of them:
Field Assembly "Storm And Stress" Black Atlass "Paris (Interlude)" Black Atlass "Paris" Fortune Howl "Laika" Nobody "Rhombus" King Bee "Back By Dope Demand (Original 12" Mix) dviousmindz "Paralles" Locrian "Exiting The Hall of Vapor and Light" Palms "Shortwave Radio" Weekend "Adelaide" DIIV "Follow" Jay Arner "Out To Lunch" Kuato "Frances The Mutant" Destruction Unit "Nightfall" CROSSS "Bones Brigade" Alex Mason "Howl" Jon Hopkins "We Disappear"
P.S. even after one year since its release, I still can't get enough of the DIIV album, "Oshin." Timeless!
