For my heart can’t take the shots that you’ve been graciously discharging at it.

It cannot bear the thought of a beautiful stranger gnawing at my potential again. It cannot bear the burden that accompanies the falsely given hopes.

I underestimated your power.

I’ve been too stubborn to admit it, but you’re not meant for me and I’m not meant for you.

Like every beautiful stranger that once was and could have been, you too have become a figment of my past. I’ve been holding onto you for far too long, but it’s time to bid my farewell.

I’m aware that I’m worthy of you and I’m aware that you’re worthy of me, but the sea hasn’t run dry and some goldmines remain undiscovered.
