A summary of my week
Nope, this isn’t a transformer—it's an x-ray flourescence machine, and we use it to determine the age of a painting without having to take a sample. Don't miss Final Fridays: Weird Science tonight. One of our own Conservation scientists, Kate Duffy, will be in the galleries to give you an inside look at this machine and tell you about some of her favorite projects. Get tickets here.
Hackathon 3.0 has been churning at the Museum and an epic battle is going down at this month's Final Friday: Hack the Museum. Check out the projects Hackers created to guide you to your new favorite work of art and cast your vote for the People's Choice Award. Then dance it out with Philly funk by Swift Technique. Final Fridays are included with Museum admission. Tickets are limited. Final Fridays illustration by Nate Harris.
We invited the sound artists involved in this month’s Final Fridays “The Missed Guided Tour” to contribute to this Spotify playlist. Consider it a perfect pregame soundtrack to next week’s event. Hear the latest tracks on heavy rotation for King Britt, Xenia Rubinos, Jeremy Toussaint-Baptiste, and Suphala. Then join them live in the Great Stair Hall next Friday to hear their latest compositions. Tickets are limited.

Tonight's the night: Join us for Final Fridays: Get Your Om On. Featuring guided laughter meditation "playshops," embroidered mandala art making, the soulful stylings of Worldtown Party and much more. Dhyana Yoga offers two classes at 6:15 p.m. where space is limited; first come, first served. Illustrations by Nate Harris. Final Fridays are free with admission.
Don't ditch that Mother of Dragons costume yet—sport your best “Game of Thrones” look at this month's Final Fridays: Winter Is Coming and get $5 off your ticket at the door. The night's festivities include a scavenger hunt, weapons demonstrations, sketching in the galleries, and performances by Piffaro Renaissance Band and Doug Elkins Choreography etc. Final Fridays are free with Museum admission.
