FINAL 10 IMAGES
Final Design Layout of Pilot
A Lust for Life by Jade Chopra
This series of images is presented as a diary which documents the four-week lockdown before Christmas. In this book, themes of loneliness, isolation, boredom etc. will be explored through the many lows of the day-to-day life in quarantine.
Geometry Final Images
These are my final images for the geometry club brief. I am very happy with how my images turned out, the white sky photographs are the ones I am the most happy with, I feel they make a simple architecture shot seem a little more abstract as normal reality there would be at least some detail within the sky. My layout idea for the canvas was to balance the busy compositional images with the negative space white sky images. This makes the overall appearance of my canvas more appealing to look at and isn't off balance. Overall I wouldn't change any of my images as I am very proud of all of them.
Something New Final
This is my final image, I am actually very hoary with the final product. I have captured the crisp clean candle perfectly, it is a white object so I had to be careful to not let it blend into the background too much. I used a soft box as my key light, I also used two poly boards to A- block out the light from my peers lights and B- to minimise the amount of shadows on the back of the object because I was lighting the subject from the front. To light the metallic writing on the lid I used some folded tin foil.
White Shirts Final Images
These are my final images for the ‘White Shirts brief, Personally I think I have captured some great shots that fit what the brief was waiting perfectly, I have managed to create nice images with different toned backgrounds using the one white backdrop. I used a soft box for the white background alongside two ordinary light fittings to light the background and then just the soft box for the grey background. I then used barn doors for the black background.
Grid System Final Images
These are my final images for Grid System. I feel I have managed to capture what the brief had challenged us to do.
Wait for It Final
This is my final image for wait for it.
I am really happy with the outcome of this image, the depressing bleak atmosphere of the shot and the silhouette of the subject creates this tension which I really like. The wet surroundings also emphasised this point. I feel I have managed to complete what the brief has asked me. One of my favourite part about this shot is that it has an unintentional vignette which helps focus on the main focal point more.
Lockdown City
This brief was a task to capture real events that are occurring during this global pandemic.
With the editing I done on these series of images I decided to do something a little different. I have made them have a slight green tint to all of them to create a cinematic apocalyptic feel to the images but I felt like if they were too green it would have made my images look really tacky therefore I had added a little bit of warmth back into them. I ended up really liking this style of editing its different and I feel its very visually pleasing to look at images with this type of editing done to them.
With the shots I feel I have managed to show all the main parts of post lockdown, the supporting of our NHS, people wearing masks basically everywhere, social distancing, Covid guidelines. All very vital parts to our lives at the moment and I feel I have conveyed all of them in a very good and artistic manner. Overall I am very pleased with how my images turned out, if I were to change any of them it would be to re edit the 3rd one down as I feel I have over edited it slightly.
