Sup lovelies, so to cut to the chase, recently my financial status changed, due to some health issues, I am currently having to be on sick leave at work, unfortunately sick pay barely covers my bills and leaves almost no room actual survival needs.

hi! valerie here, black trans bipolar musician writer lady, basically I'm short on money I need to get into a stable housing situation, essentially I had my benefits payment cut (called a sanction) because of 3 weeks of noncommunication with the jobcentre while I was having a severe depressive episode a couple months back, I've been couchsurfing for the past month and a half and a friend has recently had a room open up in their house, but due to the sanction I can't pay the full rent before the due date, I'm so burnt out from being houseless at the moment and really any help so I can have a stable place would be so appreciated !!! <3333

urgent situation ~

As of Saturday, 4-11, I will be staying & sleeping in my car indefinitely; not the best situation with my health issues, but I'm out of options. My plan is to park at a strip mall that has a grocery store, a Dunkin's, and a McD's. I can probably get a hot tea at either place, and sit inside a few hours at a time. The toughest time will be 2-6am, when everything is closed. I'm on two powerful diuretics (to stave off fluid retention) because of the issues with my heart, and not having access to a bathroom that long is going to be problematic.

I got barely any response to my last help post, so I'm just paring it down with the hope it might help get this noticed.

I'm still on medical leave for my heart conditions; I'm at 45% heart efficiency (I don't think that's the exact technical term) & on six types of meds, several of which have side effects that keep me sidelined. My Cardiologist is trying to manage my conditions via meds & lifestyle adjustments, but he truthfully feels I will need a procedure sometime down the line. I finally got to see a Primary Care Physician last week who has forwarded paperwork to Walmart's leave approval company, and hopefully--finally--I'll get approved and can apply for State medical leave coverage. That has a 2-week window, and you can't apply again once you've been declined, so the timing is everything, and the Walmart end has to be thoroughly completed before I can turn to the State. Fingers crossed, it'll be May for a start date to collect 60% of my lost pay.

I'm praying this is the last time I'll need to plead for help. I know I've probably exhausted most of the good will extended to me here, I hate doing this, and I don't want to do it anymore. I'm setting my goal at $900, but I know that is nearly impossible. Still, hope guides me as it has from the start, and the worst that can happen is a no-go. Any help that anyone can manage would be as heaven sent.

I am currently looking for Youtube editing jobs!! I need to be able to support myself remotely as my chronic stomach condition renders me unable to do a majority of IRL jobs, and I am getting to a point in my life where I will need to be able to support myself financially very soon. I have around 9 years of experience and I am extremely proficient in Final Cut Pro, as well as decently knowledgeable in Davinci Resolve. My rates per video are largely based on source footage and complexity of edit, so that's something I can work out with creators once we connect

LET’S HELP HALA EVACUATE RAFAH! PLEASE SHARE

Hala is a young woman from Gaza who is married to the love of her life, Mazen.

Last year, the young couple had their first baby, Mohammed, who they loved more than anything in the world.

Tragically, Mohammed got sick in his first months of life and, due to the siege on Gaza, his illness could not be treated as well as he needed and he passed. This was shortly before the beginning of the current aggression on Gaza. That is when Hala and Mazen’s house was destroyed and a series of dangerous displacements began for them, with barely any of their belongings left.

During this time, they found out they were expecting another baby. Hala knew that both she and Mazen may have conditions that would make it hard for them to give birth to a healthy baby; in fact, since losing Mohammed, her goal had been to get the medical care they both need in order to figure this issue out and hopefully resolve it. Hala did everything she could to keep her fetus safe but, at the beginning of May, her fourth month pregnancy, she lost the baby during their displacement from Rafah.

Just a short while ago, Hala felt sick and dizzy and when she was able to see a doctor, she discovered she is about two months pregnant. Scared, she asked the doctor what she should do. He said they need to wait until the fourth month of pregnancy and evaluate the health of the fetus to find out if she can carry on the pregnancy in a healthy manner.

For a few months, Hala has been fundraising to be able to evacuate to Egypt, where most of her family is waiting for her and where she could finally get the rest and medical care she needs. On top of the expenses needed for her and Mazen to evacuate, they have had to spend a lot of money for their forced displacements, and also on food, water and basic necessities that are currently incredibly expensive and hard to find in Gaza.

Yesterday Ianto got hurt on our evening walk.

At about 5:30 he was jumping off some play equipment and broke his toenail. I was with my partner and Klaus, luckily my partner had his phone and wallet (where I had only some zines I'm working on in my pocket and a handkerchief)

He called the closest vet and booked me an Uber pet, got Ianto and me in the car then took Klaus home before grabbing a bike and my phone to come meet us.

I was terrified that Ianto broke his toe bones, but luckily the doctor explained it was "just" a bad toenail break - right at the base.

He had to be sedated to have it removed safely.

By the time he's situated in the vet and we can walk home with the bike it was well after 6pm. When we got the call at 7:30 that he was ready to go home (earlier than expected) I had to grab another Uber to the vet.

Ianto, silly goofy Ianto, was still quite wobbly from the meds. We were sent home with 5 days of pain meds and an appointment on Tuesday to get his bandage removed. We walked 2 blocks up to the bus which would take us 3 stops to home. I had his best on me and he was in a cone with a bandage on his paw.

We got there about 7:55-8:00pm. The bus driver then attempted to refuse us service which turned into a whole ordeal. Historically I would have just gotten off the bus and walked the 6 blocks home, but Ianto could not have made that walk. So I stood my ground. He ended up calling his supervisor and transit cops on us (about 10 minutes after I requested he call his supervisor lol, I know the laws).

That whole shitshow took another HOUR but I had no way to get home otherwise -Ianto couldn't have loaded into a car to Uber he was too out of it.

In the end, the bus driver was informed he was wrong, he wasted so much time I had to get off and on the next bus anyway. And I didn't sleep until after 2am. Poor Klaus was very distressed.

My dog emergency fund - sorely low after the last year without work - only had half the cost in it ($353.55) and the rest was put on card.
